I played piano as a kid and was in the honor band on Bassoon, so I understand the whole step half step structure of a scale but on Guitar, the way to get the "next note" of a scale seems really random to me. Is there a pattern to it that I am not seeing? Also your videos are great!!!

Half set is from fret to the very next fret. Whole step in to skip a fret - every other fret
