I like your build. The coasters were a great idea. I'm making a thick farmhouse coffee table for one of our daughters to put in their new home. (4x4's) for the ends and 2x6 top and bottom shelfs. I'll be making coasters to match it. I'll keep watching.

you inspired me. I'm going to look into using this design but make both sides lift up and lock, this way you can place a leaf inbetween them I'm trying to find a way to have a coffee table in the living room that turns into a board game table

What's the minimum depth the tray can be for that lift system?

It was about 3.5" on this one, but it could have been a little shallower. I wouldn't go much less than that.

@@Danny-gg6qk My sister actually bought them and sent them to me to use for this; there are lots of options on Amazon! I had to grind the ends off slightly to get them to fit the way I wanted.
