Hey Everyone, As you will see when you watch this video, a lot work went into documenting the lead up to the 2024 Rox-Postrophy Tour. If you like this video and you would like to support future episodes of this series please let me know. We are playing with the idea of crowd funding the rest of the series on dweezilzappa.com. It will be coupled with a full concert from the 2024 tour and extras from the upcoming 2025 tour as well as special (AUDIO ONLY) releases from the tour.

I am in great appreciation of recent videos about what you gleaned from Edward. As a 3rd generation musician (DC jazz going back to 1930s), grew up absorbing Franks sound patterns. All I have now is a 1985 Kramer pacer with flat spots on the nickle frets above the 12th fret. I have to play every day or I become duller and lose energy. Playing Music is food for me. Youre one of the best guitarists on earth. Dweezil, thank you for making music against a backdrop of low frequency hambone crud for people who do not like music. - Darrel

Dweezil, I've got about 45 years at the other end of the snake cable. The fun levels were declining before the pandemic but the future looked reasonably stable and predictable. And it became anything but. Many techs and crew members found new or renewed paths, much as you and other artists did, and without the momentum of cyclical touring, found other productive uses of time and relationships. Some others retired, some passed, a few took "real jobs" for the benefits and consistent wages. I understand your frustration and I completely get your apprehension about playing out with some of your material. You've not been playing 8 hours a day, every day, like you used to and the public seldom realizes how much muscle control and stamina is required to play at this level. You recognize how much time you'll need to return to that certainty of performance; I see that as a sign of respect for yourself, your players, your music, your fans, and the rest of Team Dweezil. Nothing half-baked from your kitchen! Enjoy your family and the pups, and know that we're wanting the best for all your endeavors.

3:44 "it's been 4 years and I've barely even played guitar" That was so wild to hear. I always imagined that Dweezil went to bed with a guitar. Reminds me of when Frank played the concert in Prague and opened by saying that this was the first time in 3 years that he had a reason to play his guitar. A good reminder that it's never too late to pick up where you left off. I'm glad Dweezil is giving us all this content. I know it takes 1000x more work to create than we think it does. That was an amazing watch of a very well made high quality docu. As a fellow musician dealing with similar struggles on a much smaller scale, I can totally relate. Organizing gigs, managing costs, and learning a lot of complex music in a relatively short time feels like a never-ending balancing act. I got flashbacks to many of my own moments of anxiety watching this ;-) Your dedication keeps the Zappa legacy alive, and it’s inspiring for all of us navigating the same kind of chaos. Dear Dweezil, thank you for sharing this. When your father last played Melbourne, I was deemed too young to attend the show, so when you first toured here and played at Hamer Hall, I felt so lucky to see you and the band play. I was literally moved to tears by that performance. Since that show I was fortunate enough to be able to see you play another couple of times in Melbourne. Of course I and many others in the antipodes would love to see you tour here again BUT what I wish most for you is that you remain healthy, happy and creative. Hey Dweezil, I was lucky enough to see your Dad when he came to Australia. Then my brother told me that YOU were playing here too. So, we (including my wife) saw you here a couple of times. I saw you in Syracuse, NY and we attended your Master Class before that concert, thanks for posing for some photos on my 60th birthday. We're all hoping you can make it to Australia again, cos we'll be out in force to see you again! But we can only guess the great amount of stress that touring must bring to you. Hopefully, your support team and wife can help you to ride all the bumps. Frank sure must've had a huge workload, hiring symphonies etc, while being a full time composer, band leader, guitarist and tour organizer. Kudos to you! We love you!! One other thing: your studio looks phenomenal! I can understand why you'd be quite happy working in there! I have my own amateur studio for music, as well as my playshop (not a workshop) for metal sculpture. It's quite cathartic locking yourself in to express creativity! But holy fuck, we love hearing you play your father's music live - especially your OWN versions of it!!

Dweezil. Why not take the pressure of a tour off . At least performance wise. After so long of not touring choose songs that dont require you to perform an olympic event. I mean you still smoke on guitar! There are tons of music that still wails, just go a little easy on tourself. Do a tour of stuff you never played, and some you have that wont make this misery for you to do? Just be who you are, in the life you have. Whatever you choose as the song list, we will come, and I know, we will love it!Dont stress. Enjoy it. Have fun with it.We are ok with it. We love you brother!

@@thedweezilzappa Very true. I know you are a guitarist, a great one, and want to be involved in all parts of the songs. It wouldnt be terrible to let the instruments that mechanically, may handle some of those parts . Even your dad at some point, would only put his guitar on for solos. I know its not the same. But that was fine. I dont mean to imply you are unable to play it all, but you mentioned time management. And you obviously want to be there for your family. Thanks for putting the reality out there for your audience to experience. I'd wager a significant percentage of your fans are musicians who (should/might?) have some idea about the complexities of touring when you're at the place in life you find yourself currently. I recently attended the 'Beat' tour in Atlanta & came away from it having spent $400.00 in total. No merch bought. Just ; 2 tickets, day off work day of show, dinner on the way & parking. It was the only opportunity I was ever gonna have to see K.C. live, so I don't regret it. We , your long time fans are feeling the economic crunch too but some of us will pay higher prices for the higher caliber musicianship you demand of yourself and your band. I would also donate to see live streamed rehearsals leading up to the tour! Just an idea..Thanks for sharing your reality with us.

Seeing Dweezil with those doggies had me remembering "Stinkfoot" where Frank is heard saying, "Fido! Fido, come here, little puppy -- bring the slippers . . ." Arf arf arf! -- I always imagined that Frank's doggy Fido went to fetch Frank's 'sinister footwear' after bromhidrosis had rendered them too gnarly for the hypersensitive canine nostrils to deal with. How many other songwriters have ever thought to use the word 'bromhidrosis' in a song lyric, other than Frank?

@@thedweezilzappa That entire ALBUM was fun, and there's been no better advice ever given than to Watch out where the huskies go and don't you eat that yellow snow! 🎶🎵🤪🤣

Thank you for this. Always have wondered about these , it all costs, what do you charge so you can pay the band. Can you earn enough to survive. I've seen your show 3 times and it's always wonderful and comforting. Was able to see Frank four times ad met him once.thanks..see you on the road.

Wow.....this was really cool and eye opening......I spoke with Uli Jon Roth and he also was saying a tour bus is $90k and touring is darn near impossible. Assuming that is his wife in the video? She seems really cool.

Yes, Megan is my wife. Touring is expensive!

Touring sounds very daunting, at least from a financial perspective…and missing home & family. Good luck, whatever you decide. 😊

i saw the hot rats tour in austin as covid was becoming a “thing” everyone was just starting to talk about it- nervously making jokes-but u could sense the impending shitstorm. But, then dweezil and the band kicked off the first tune and we all forgot about it for a couple hours. killer band and a killin show. ive seen zpz a few times as well back when dweezil wasnt getting surd by his own family for the right to use the zappa name. anyhow-Tour dweezil!! we miss u brother! its cool bro-u dont have to! we love you anyhow. 👊👊 also: what a f$&@ing awesome studio! congrats u deserve it!
