I personally have realized that Barlog's games are better. I've been playing through the games again, on hard, and I couldn't even get past this ridiculous part in ascension, which I barely got past on normal, and have encountered some horrible level design in chains of olympus (after skipping ascension to play CoO.) Health and mana chests, but only after you defeat the enemies, where when the last fight, you got health and mana before that last fight, so you're on empty mana and nearly empty health after, and it ends up being a constant struggle to stay alive every other fight or so, to the point that if you die so many times, they give you more health each time you die from then on to help. That is ridiculous. That is a sign of bad design. Also, the... death knights? Whatever they're called? Don't seem to be balanced well. They move so fast especially when their shields are gone, despite having such high damage and attack radius. Shit makes me irritated as I speak of it. Horribly balanced and designed.

it's not a remake. It's a continuation of Kratos' story. All the scars remain on his body, so it's still the original kratos. A remake suggests it's a new kratos entirely and the old games never happened. That's not the case with the new God of War.

That's not a bad thing since The last of Us is one of the best games ever made. I read Cory Barlog is more inspired by "Unforgiven" starring Clint Eastwood. It's important to show more of a character driven story like TLOU anyway because God of War needs to be more than just an angry guy killing Gods all the time.
