The Francis Bacon essays are all fascinating and insightful. I remember when I was reading Francis Bacon in 7th grade English class and my English teacher did a double take when he walked past my desk and he was like, "...Francis Bacon Essays?" I'm like "yeah, so what, it's interesting!"

I had some quartzite and left it in thw sun with pleasure applied and combination from the hear of the sun preasure and rain caused gold to grow in the crevouses of the crystal

It,s a metaphor. When he says Metal, he means the virtues/ principles of a man or woman, with Gold having the highest value and purity over the other "Metals"... Bacon was Enlightened
