This video tutorial shows the making of higher ampere hour lithium ion battery with cellphone charging port from dead battery lead acid and scrap laptop batteries.
In this video,
Materials used are cutter, pliers, li-ion cells from scrap laptop batteries, lead acid battery case, 18650 battery holder, 3s 40A BMS, spot welder, tester, nickel strip, plastic adhesive, DC-DC step down charger power module and power switch.
Before the lead acid case is cut, the creator wears protective gloves and face mask to avoid the fumes from dead battery. Using cut, the compartments are cut little by little and take out by the pliers.
Lithium batteries are taken from scrap laptop batteries donated by friends.
The batteries are tested and make sure that all have closed voltage. Batteries with same voltage are place into battery holder in series. All batteries are arranged in 3s3p connection (3 series 3 parallel) that results into 12v system rated as 7.8 Ampere Hour, then It is connected to BMS. Also, the charger module and the power switch is connected in the BMS.
Before using the product, the battery is charged in solar power system and then the performance using 12 volt 8 watts LED light bulb, DC fan and Cellphone charging.
The new 12 volt lithium ion battery is connected to Honda Wave 125 S 2004 model and the performance is very impressive!!!
