Brand new fan of Tems! I am extremely infatuated with this woman. Aside from being so beautiful, she is so talented. I’m in awe of the fact that she sings and knows how to use her voice as well as she does on top of making fire ass beats. I’m from Atlanta, GA and I have recently fallen in love with the afrobeat/afropop scene. I first heard of her on Essence by WizKid who I’ve known about for quite some time but just now becoming a fan. They make Nigeria so intriguing that I cannot wait to visit Nigeria. Alotta times as Americans, we have the wrong idea about Africa because we’re only show. The poor part. Generations prior you guys in Africa were depicted to us as savages like in the Tarzan films or the depiction of the Khoi people for example. In more recent years the image shown to us was the “starving African” that are in the 10 cents a day commercials. It’s only been very recent that we’ve had more access to the authentic images and lifestyle of much of Africa
