I love hearing Bethany speak about her conflicted feelings around the killing of the shark that bit her. It shows that you can still have respect for nature and all it’s species while still recognizing when specific threats exist and removing them for the safety of all species.

I remember my mom and my aunt took me and my sisters to see this movie in the cinema when it came out when I was 4 and I loved it and now I’m 13 and I still watch it a lot of times It’s a summer classic same as Jaws and Purple Rain

Its a Sunday story you watch with your kids. There are 1 million exactly like it and they all do the same exact job. At the end of the day it is watchable even with the Jesus Christ undertone which can be unbearable. But to each his own. I just came here cuz I swore they chopped off her arm for real. That was the most amazing part.

The shark was just eating. It’s unfortunate that it hurt a human but it most likely thought she was a seal. Killing it for simply going by instinct isn’t correct. What good did this do? Just to say “we got the shark”??

Sharks hardly have a purpose besides removing weaker species below them in the food chain. So it really doesn’t effect the ecosystem much. Plus people live on the shore and the shark didn’t attack in deep waters therefore could have injured many others living in the area.

I think "Soul Surfer" is a pretty good film. Honestly I don't like the "Shark Attack" scene because that part scared the living shit out of me when I was younger

Really weird shark? Reality is they see food to them a seal flapping on top and bite. Obviously he didnt like the taste and let go after the initial bite or youd be toast.
