Still breaks my heart how the ratings made the game seem like it sucks, but to me and to this day (haven't played the new game yet) Web of Shadow is the best Spider-Man game of ALL TIME. An awesome collection of behind-the-scenes material for what remains to this day my favourite Spider-Man game. If they ever remaster or remake this game, I think they need to do a few things to make it truly the definitive experience: -Suits. These are in the Wii version as a concession because they couldn't add the allies to that version. But it would be really nice to have suits, and give us more than the Wii version had. -A proper New Game+. Technically it's in there but you have to sit through the credits a bunch of times to get to it. Include it as an option on the main menu once you beat the game. -Roosevelt Island. No reason for them to lock it off, especially since events still spawn there. -This is highly wishful thinking, and would require not just new coding but new voice lines recorded, but it would be really cool to have a mode in which you play as Venom, and your goal is to establish nests and take over Manhattan.

Cant believe a video like this exists. I love this game and it absolutely deserves better, I still go back to it frequently. Insomniac's Spider-Man 2 has so many callbacks to this game and as a huge fan I could not be happier about that. Thank you so much for the video! Always great to see people remembering Web of Shadows.

Yeah absolutely! I had took down my first video that was Web of Shadows related. I'm had done some narrating in that video which looking back my audio was very poor. Wanted to step into doing YT but without my commentary about WOS since I had great memories playing years back.

Web of Shadows was and still is a fun Spider-Man game i played! loved the end of world symbiote invasion that happened.

The way these developers talk really make you feel like they wanted you to recreate fight scenes you would see in the movies/shows.

Marvel spiderman 2 should have went for this approach, they are litterly knocking on the door of disappointment 😂😂, idk why people defend the game, its a masterpiece but far from perfect. Web of shadows was ahead of its time tbh when it came to combat, and venom plot.

There was apparently a lot to the Venom plot in Insomniac's game that got cut - Tony Todd reckoned about 80% of the lines he recorded got cut, we've seen evidence of other Life Foundation Symbiotes in the game's code as well (Phage for sure, his model, code and animations are complete and he can be spawned into the unofficial PC builds and works as a boss/enemy) which suggests that the short length of the Venom Invasion part of the game was not intentional. It sounds like Insomniac had big ideas, and some of them even got to the production stage, but Sony ordered them to significantly cut them down - either because they were too 'out there' (we're dealing with a Symbiote invasion here, I don't know how much more 'out there' Insomniac's ideas could have been) or - and this is far more likely - they wanted them spun off into the inevitable Venom spin-off game. I will say that Web of Shadows does have the definitive Symbiote combat, though, and since Insomniac have yet to even include wall combat, to this day Web of Shadows remains the Spider-Man game with the most combat options.
