I will never understand why anyone would think that. Personally, I think it's the worst Trek show -- even now, I think it's worse than Discovery or Picard. Juvenile, badly written, poorly handled and downright terrible science fiction. Its first 2 seasons feel like they were written by horny, glue-sniffing, drunk teenagers. Not to mention, Archer and Phlox are guilty of planetary genocide, and they NEVER get called out on it. Also, I was 8 years old when Dear Doctor came out, and even I knew how idiotic it was in its assertions about evolution and how it works, which was the central so-called "moral dilemma" which they use to justify allowing billions to die instead of giving them a cure for their disease.

Personally, while I have watched all the Star Trek shows for the last 2 years (minus TOS) I liked this show for the characters and the relationships that evolved. Sure, it's not DS9, nor TNG but I think it was better than Voyager which I think was mostly dull. Then again, I'm not a hardcore trekkie, for me Star Trek is something I watch while zoning out for the most parts, unless it gets really interesting.

Or do you think every creditable doctor on the planet "plays god" any time they give cures or vaccines to members of other nations who beg for their help? Bear in mind, this civilisation is already aware of interstellar life, has medical and other scientific tech of their own, and is intelligent and sapient. The only things they lack are 1: warp drive and 2: a cure for the disease wiping them out, including several innocent children we see throughout the episode. They BEGGED for help, and literally NO damage would've occurred by giving them a cure, just some absolute bulls**t Phlox made up which doesn't stand up to scrutiny, science or even common sense. YES I'd have given them the goddamn cure. You'd have to be either a monster with no conscience or an absolute moron NOT to. If the episode was about giving them warp drive or not, then they'd have a legit argument to give. That tech is insanely dangerous in inexperienced hands and itself could cause massive disasters. But they never even fully address that aspect beyond two short conversations. But as is, the episode is terrible and the writers should feel ashamed for making it.

I felt a more emotional attachment for the crew of this series and Enterprise NX-01. Humanity's first steps towards becoming a space faring species created a really inspiring and most important chapter in the Trek universe. Instead of just watching each episode, I felt like I was right there with them the first time, wondering how I would react to the situations, the new worlds, new types of life, the struggle and just the wonder of it all. I like the NX-01 a lot because it looked like something we could do some day... maybe we will, if we can learn to get along and work together.

NX-01 is the only enterprise I actually like the design of, its not perfect but it doesn't look so horrible like the coni from ToS with so many weak points holding it together, teh galexy is better in TNG but the saucer is too big.

It is so sad that they ended it after 4 years, it was starting to get really good. Now a decade later you hear all the WONDERFUL things they were planning, the NX-01 being refit with a Secondary Hull, the Romulan war and so much more. I wish Sci Fi network would have picked it up after the work they did with Battlestar, it would have been a perfect home.

This may be blasphemes to some, but STE is my favorite iteration of Star Trek. The crew (and the actors) and the plots are just so excellent. I actually binge watch STE; which I've never done with of the other series.

I really understand that. I was hooked when it came out, and rediscovered it in 2014, watching it completely then and again two years later - I'm really considering to do it once more soon. Both times there was a strong tendency of binging - it's one of those universes that I love to "escape" to. I tried watching the original series, but only made it through (I believe) one season because it just didn't get to me in terms of characters and emotionality, and the production quality and writing of some of these episodes frankly was hard to watch, while others were alright. I am watching Next Generation now (after having watched just an episode here and there over the decades, and not remembering too much of it), which I find quite good. The characters are more interesting and diverse than in the original series, but it doesn't addict me quite as much as Enterprise. Discovery I personally find very intriguing. Its overarching story and character development (and good characters, if you ask me) got me binging it, too. But Enterprise has a certain innocence, diversity and nostalgia that I personally associate with no other of these series, I admit. :) It's like a relationship that was perfect, too short, and broken up for stupid reasons. It haunts me with the constant question of "why not revive it?". If we think about it: It wouldn't be the first series to be killed off and resurrected...

Yup, shame they did not make the 7 years or more like DS9, or Voyager, or even TNG... it was just really starting to get interesting in the end, they were going to begin their 5 year mission and start meeting and inviting new races into the newly formed federation.. The best to all the actors who played on this great and wonderful series.. They will be missed.

I hand it not only to the actors.but those men and women who made it look beleivable. just ro work on a set like that would be my dream. even nearly at the age of 70. I only hope they bring this back along with some of the original actors. This was a really underrated Star Trek show. Yah the first season was iffy but that is literally EVERY star trek show except the original series, strange new worlds, and lower decks. Hell even the two series that are considered the best star trek shows TNG, and DS9 had rocky starts and didn't go from ok to good to great till about their 3 seasons. I really liked seeing humans still learning and adapting to interacting with new aliens, they don't have this holier-than-thou "we are a perfect evolved peaceful ideal race and you should join our Federation" attitude that was only ever challenged in DS9. The humas are more understandable and closer to are current POV but still showing a brighter future. Seeing the formation of the federation and getting a better look at Vulcans and Andorians was awesome as well. Hell I wish we got more of the Andorians as they were so interesting. Dr Phlox is easily one of my favorite dr characters up there with McCoy, and The Doctor EMH. They were finally getting into their grove when they canceled the show. Also don't EVEN get me started on just how utterly INSULTING the final episode was to everyone who worked on the show and all the viewers who stood by it till the end. Enterprise deserved waaaaay better

The Xindi arc was terrible and what killed the show along with the temporal Cold War plot. The show would have been better if it was the same as it’s season 1, showing strange new worlds and the foundation of the federation, not a snippet at the end. Also hello: a very real conflict happens during this time: the Earth-Romulan war never before seen on screen. And what do they replace it with? The fucking Xindi plot that no one asked for.

Mine, too. The really weird thing for me is that I consider Archer as my favorite captain, the NX-01 my favorite ship, and her crew as my favorite crew. Having said this, however, ENT is not my favorite Star Trek series. I think I still prefer TNG and DS9 better overall. That's not to say that I think ENT is bad, because it's not. I do think that had it not been prematurely cancelled and gotten 3 more full seasons, I have no doubt that ENT would be my favorite Star Trek series, for sure.

Why am I just now finding this wonderful video? Loved the actor's intro at the beginning. I've always wanted to learn more about the reasoning behind the design of the ship. I loved the actors in ENT. They did such a great job. Too bad it ended the way it did. Killing Trip was so utterly unnecessary. ENT had a nasty habit of killing off major characters. Ranting. It’s a travesty that this excellent series never got the accolades and the 7 full seasons it deserved. A reunion show would be wonderful. Let’s see the characters after their mission was complete and see what they’re doing now. Bring them back for a Picard-like series wherein these characters get the conclusion to their story. It is terribly overdue. I would LOVE and support it!

Paramount Studios never really wanted Enterprise from beginning. They thought fanbase wouldn't accept concept of pre Kirk/Spock era. The producers really didn't have any idea where foundation of series began, just plugged in familiar aliens like Klingons, Vulcans, Andorians whenever thought might draw viewers.

I watched Star Trek since TOS and love them all. I skipped Enterprise after the first couple of episodes when it was first shown because it didn't feel right. But years later I went back to it again as I didn't think i'd given it a fair chance. I wasn't disappointed. It is now one of my top favourite Star Treks, crews and superb storylines. I can't believe i skipped it the first time around.

They would have gotten together for sure, as long as you completely ignore the holodeck finale with Riker and Troi where they killed Trip for no good reason at all. That episode was very obviously written and tacked on the end of the series after it had been cancelled. "Terra Nova" is the *real* ending of Season 4 and I refuse to even consider the Riker episode as part of ENT canon.

If you follow the Enterprise books, Trip & T’Pol do get married and have a son and daughter. Trip’s death is a ploy so that he can go under cover and disguised as a Romulaninto the RomulanEmpire. The process to change him into a Romulan increases his life span to equal that of a Vulcan. This allows him to live a full long life with his wife.

Aa far as I'm concerned, this was the last Star Trek TV show. Basic greed is what took it off the air. Enterprise definitely had issues, they all do. But cutting them off just when they were hitting their stride- when the juicy bits of character arc start to really bear fruit- then the boneheads in the boardroom yanked it, and with it my fan loyalty.

+writerpatrick burnout was why I didn't watch it, we just had DS9 and VOY and then ENT right away so soon? Trek as a whole was suffering from franchise fatigue later seasons of DS9 and VOY had viewer ships declining en mass etc, the TNG movies were not doing well(probably because they are bad). They really should have waited a few years or even as you say waited for JJ verse and released it along side that.

If I only knew it was the last Trek that would take place in the Prime universe and what Trek would turn into in the future, I would've watched the initial run all the way through. This show was soooo good but they shorted us with just 4 seasons. Not only that but they shorted us episodes in the last season and even shorted us the full hour for the last episode. The show had it's flaws but it was good. I'll never understand why goofy shows can go on forever but awesome shows like STE get cancelled 🥺

I think that Star Trek Enterprise 's popularity was do to the problems of the UPN network and not so much for the producers of Star Trek Enterprise. The older stations CBS , NBC and ABC did not want any other type of competition at the time . they where losing viewership to the cable stations plus in California they introduced a law called sindexing witch allowed local stations blocking privliges of the main stations . UPN bore the burden of this . I use to live in the central coast S.L.O. county and we saw the heaviest sindexing and the most violations of this law . the local stations would block a show and then not show it at a proper time during normal viewing prime time but late at night after the other regular shows aired . some times I had to set my VCR to some time after 1-2 am to record Star Trek Enterprise or even new episodes of Next Gen. and this happened alot until the FCC Cal. branch stepped in an told the local stations that if they requested to block a program that they where now required to show that program at prime time hours or lose their blocking privlages . Yes this crap really happened where I use to live . I for one stopped watching the local channels all together . I now live in Nevada and some how still get those assholes from KSBY and their Bullshit on satellite dish and local airwaves.

I think it was a big mistake to cancel this show; I like the show very much. I can also appreciate a steady paycheck. Actors are part of the creative process in a TV show production. I think if you allowed actors to improvise a few lines for every episode then the show over all would be better for it. The bickering between McCoy and Spock was purely improvised and improved the show of star trek immensely.

My thoughts exactly, for me most liely kurt&Co wanted to make a series in JJ abrams alternative timelines so they could ignore all continuity, but at the last minute Paramount blocked the idea since Jj Abrams movie were not so well received, but kurt&Co thought that then they should review the series ?"No, we are better of the original. We are the True Star Trek now!...and if truly get frakked we can make an excuse using the Temporal War to rapresent a new timeline...Who Cares that Archer put an end of the Temporal War! Who is Archer anyway?".....and so instead of Axanar we got Nu-trek......thanks god for Lower Decks, otherwise for me the franchise would be dead

I think what hampers the ratings most is the diversity of what Star Trek fans are looking for, just read the comments. If they increased what some fans like, then other fans won’t like it. This reflects the me me me generation, too hard to please.

i finished to see ST:ENT and in my opinion was great... I started to see it later because I have heard is was a bad serie, but now after I saw all seasons I think it could be more seasons, Archer rocks....I liked more than Voyager. so sad the serie had low audience, that was the reason why it had only 4 seasons, there is only one thing i was dissapointed...thr last and final chapter. I like ST:TNG of course but I didnt like Riker trying to "save" the serie. it could be a great final without a help of TNG, that was a contamination I think. i didn't like Trip's death.... he doesnt deserve to die yet.

Imagine assembling the entire crew (in character) for an NX-01 reunion at Starfleet headquarters in SF. Its 2167 and they all basically look just the way they look now wherever they are at. The only thing that would suck is that Tucker couldnt be there! (Gah!!)

Trip's death well it would of sucked if the show continued having characters die makes the show feel more real. As for the show itself season 1 and 2 were more poor then great, but season 3 and 4 are very close to the best trek we have ever gotten

If only they kept the concept of the last episode as being an hologram, but showed it from the perspective of a class of children visiting a museum. It would have been both eerie and bittersweet. But instead we had this jarring mess with Riker and Troi fumbling around the set.

Trip didn't really die. He faked his death so he could infiltrate the Romulans. The biggest mistake was adding that holoprogramme by Riker-Troi that wasted the time that could've been used to explain Trip's "death" with their own kitchen story.

I think some people hate Enterprise just because other peopled hated it. It's good Star Trek.

I have watched it twice so far, and as the director had said else where the last episode was a sham as it should have been a tribute to Enterprise, and thus leave room for more to come.

I have no interest to watch any other Star Trek but enterprise! I haven’t watched the other ones, but I’m willing to bet it’s the only one that connects the audience emotionally!

This series ended far too soon. I love TNG but we all know how bad those first two seasons really were. Go back and watch Enterprise and you might have one or two so so episodes out of the entire first and second season and the rest are gems. I'll never understand how they cancelled this show. Some of the most beloved characters in the Star Trek universe bar none.
