every time I watch this movie, within the first 4 minutes, I am blown away. it's really incredible how much work they put in this film

To think this was done without the technology used today in stop-motion films (DSLRs, Onionskinning, Live-view, etc...) is mindboggling. This movie has a special place in my heart, and the 'making of' is equally beautiful.

0:43 literally one of my favorite songs in the movie and my heart melts whenever I hear it. Just the way he sings it and the music join astonishingly perfect. Also my favorite part and lyrics of Jack's Lament :). Other favorite songs in the movie are Jack's obsession with they line "I've read these books so many times. I know the stories and I know the rhymes." Then 3rd place is Sally's song and I don't specifically have a favorite line in that one.

Kiti Neko But when I say my heart melts I legitimately get this feeling in my chest where it almost seems as if my chest is filled with awe. It feels impossible to describe with words. If only I could put feelings into words. However the sentence "It melts my heart." Is perfect so I guess it's not impossible :)

This was seriously eye-opening. I mean, I knew a lot of work goes into stop-motion animation, but I can't really visualize the incredible complexity involved. The bit about Jack's removable heads was really interesting, I'd assumed they put clay on his face and moved it but the way they did it works a lot better. Thanks for uploading this!

They also didn't talk about how they knew they had to be careful with animating Sally's off-balance walk so that she wouldn't look like she was drunk.

....i couldn't help but notice they talked about every single thing in the movie EXCEPT the actors/ voices....why...? Chris Sarandon (Jack) is a pretty cool guy. i met him last year and got an autograph and he actually called me by name. i like a celebrity that calls his fans by name, it shows he has honor. besides that, Tim Burton is my favorite director and this movie was a great success :)

Its seems that most of the movies being made these days are just made to make money. This movie was far more than that. These people wanted to do something great, and create something that will be remembered. This is definitely a film that will never be forgotten.

Stop motion has really come far. If you look at the behind the scenes for Corpse Bride, you'll see what I mean. It's still a lot of hard work, of course.

Now that I think about it I would probably buy a real used model of Jack of my pick along with the face expression for thousands of dollars if I could lol. I watch the movie at least about 4 times a week. ( Seriously HUGE fan if you couldn't tell. Have it on VHS so I'm going to have to buy the CD version before I wreck my VCR want to keep it for a long time. Seriously it's so cool to see commercials saying stuff like "Coming Out In 1995")

Makes you wonder what a director actually does. Director of photography deals with the camera work, the cameramen do the work, artists make the puppets, designers make the sets, puppeteers movie the puppets, and the director........ ?....... get's the credit I guess because he had a few drawings from a few years back?

I have never heard in a 'making of' what happens with all sets when the film is released. Does anyone that reads this comment know that?
