At 1:55 is on Maui at Makena Beach (aka Big Beach). I was shooting there that same day!!! They blocked off a section of the beach just for him too shoot. After he was done, I got to shoot along side him for a lil while. That was the highlight of my day. BTW it was a weekday he came and so there was hardly any people at the beach (and all the kids were in school).

I found him in 2010 surfing photographs and his butterfly (what I call it) came up and I believe it’s two waves that came together! Absolutely love his work! Chee hoo Clark! MahaIo for sharing your gift! 🌸🤙🌺 ps he’s the original shore break photographer!!

Will Clarke be the first to shoot footage of Proper, maxing Waimea Shorebreak ( those HUGE days..[!!]..) From INSIDE the Barrel....or is it Actually " Impossible" to do so, as such....I have seen them shoot from in the Barrel on some pretty big days, but on the Absolute Maxing Out, Monster Days, have only ever seen everyone shooting any and all footage, on Those Days, from the shore....Always guessed that it must be Impossibility, as such, behind that factor........ is the Place ( Waimea Shorebreak just TOO Heavy/ TOO MUCH Suction etc for photogs to successfully shoot at THAT Size?....is that the Reason, or there some other factor ro reason that I am unaware of and have not considered or seen?.......
