+Izzy Bee The first season (mainly the first few episodes) were kinda rocky for me. Like how walkers were literally sprinting after them. There's a scene where they're trapped in the store and a walker is trying to break a window using a big rock. The show is really getting better as it goes on. They keep outdoing themselves.

+mariahfan999 I kinda liked it because it made the walkers reasonably threatening, they weren't sprinting either, just shambling super fast. Like watching season 1, I could totally see how humanity became over run by the walkers, like I could take out one or two, but any more than that and I could see myself getting overrun. In the other seasons...not so much. Like during the later seasons I could totally see myself kicking ass because the zombies are so slow and you can just kind of kite them around.

Season 1 is so awesome. I like how everyone is so terrified by just a few walkers. I don't like the walker store scene, but that's the only one I think.

i really love how frank talks about the show , you can tell that he really loved what he did and loved the show , it was like his son to him until amc fcked everything up and fired him. I really think that the walking dead would be even more amazing nowdays if he stayed till season 6 , you can tell the difference between season 1 and half of season 2 and the next seasons , the dialogue was way better , it felt real but yeah it was a little slowpaced but i liked that , he was telling a long term story , he was building a 12-20 season show , that's why season 1/2 are my favorite seasons of the walking dead. And i really can't understand what the fck was amc thinking back in 2011 , in season 1 they had 6 episodes and a budget of 3,4 million dollars per episode and in season 2 they wanted to do 13 episodes with a budget of 2,4 ~ million dollars per episode , it doesn't make any sense to me.

+moraisgkm Its pretty plain to know why they had done this: greed. Frank Darabont had wanted to create a masterpiece within its own right and you can tell from this video and Kirkman that they knew how capable he was in creating a truthful adaptation of the iconic comic series. It was a tremendous loss to the show when once he was let go. Now both Frank and AMC are in an ongoing legal battle with lost profits and budget cuts in Season 2. AMC defitinely owes him the recognition he deserves for giving them their greatest show they ever had, along with the fan base.

Zombies was more agile and more inteligent on season 1 haha.... From 2 to present, they are slower and idiots xD. Men i love TWD, i hope they have like 100 seasons or more... I love it! The quality of the zombies, the acting of the zombies, the main actors.... Really impresive. Is not a simple Zombie serie like Znation, The Walking Dead is more like a DRAMA of a group of survivors in the apocalypse... Simply excelent!. This and the Spartacus Saga, the best series i seen till now

i noticed that difference as well with the walkers. In season one they show more intelligence, the girl picks up her bear, the wife of Morgan returns to where she died, when attempting to get in the department store walkers are seen banging windows with rocks in their hands, and when rick and Glenn run to the van walkers are able to jump the fence. I brought this up with my husband and we actually discussed it seriously cause we are dorks. But its like as the infection spreads you lose more and more abilities, I mean, the walkers have been infected longer as time passes so its like the disease is slowly crumbling them even more so. As time passes they lose that little intelligence and motor skills and become more slow and clumsy.

I know costs were an issue ..... but listening to this, the excitement Darabont has here about the show, and about AMC and the freedoms he's being given in making the show, it amazes me that AMC dumped him after the 1st season (and while he was promoting season 2 for AMC at Comic Con I believe). I have heard that he is really hard to get along with when it comes to giving him thoughts and any direction. He seems to be one of those guys that believes that only HE can make it right. Anyone else with suggestions doesn't know what the hell they're talking about.
