I believe that Woody’s plan here was to get Molly to drool on Buzz Lightyear so that his batteries and wiring inside him would break causing Andy to throw him away. But here we see that his plan backfired on him and failed to get rid of Buzz, although later on in this version of the film when Andy is about to go to Pizza Planet to take one toy with him, Woody purposely threw Buzz out the window with no remorse for his actions, saying it’s a “toy eat toy world”. The toys who are outraged by this stand up to the dictator sheriff and proceed to gang up and throw him out the window like he did to Buzz.

Probably cause: 1.) Buzz freaking out about the sun being gone and not knowing what "night time" is, is very far-fetched even for someone as deluded as him. 2.) Woody and Buzz shouting SHOULD wake up Andy.

I actually kinda think it's a shame they took this out, since we get a bit of Buzz's later character here to make a smoother transition to the end of the film. I like how he still banters with Woody playfully here and despite his delusions he still seems instinctively loyal to Andy.
