Brendan Paine IRL, kamikaze pilots were not expected to simply throw away their lives on an impossible target, and if no suitable ship was available, they could return. However, after a third or fourth return they would be shot for cowardice

I've watched "Wait For Me" dozens upon dozens of times, and each and every time, I am riveted to the screen, with the same emotions and awe at the realism and pure beauty of the scenes. It could not have been done better, and is my favorite short film of all time. (I'm 60, btw) Congratulations and best wishes to the team!

Amazing, great job. The short film contained lots of emotion and looks very nice, but built in only 12 days, filmed in 5, and a couple more days of CG? That is some amazing work. being just a gaming company at that? You guys are doing great!

The real point of all this is bringing ourselves to remember those that served in conflicts. The real point here is "being" there with these heroes and their loved ones. What the "Wait for Me" team has done is to tell us several stories, to bring us, even if just for a moment, into that time and that world. This team has done a masterful job of doing just that. An excellent storyteller will invoke emotion within your heart and your soul. "Wait for Me" reminded me of these people that were thrust into a terrible war, what they had to do, what they endured - they served their countries at a terrible expense. For a moment I was there, for a moment I cried and then I was happy. I thank the "Wait for Me" crew for sharing something sacred. I thank the men and women that were involved. We honor them when we remember them. Thank you so much.

I'm in awe!! This has been out for a while now but i only recently saw it. My attention was captured so much within the first few seconds that, for the first time.... probably ever....i didn't click SKIP on a KZbin ad. As an American I appreciate and applaud the skills employed to not only capture the terror of war, but you've also honored the soldiers and family of same. The poetic recital by the Japanese pilot was a nice touch as well. We can only wonder how it came to be that this pilot returned to his wife and son after crashing his plane just yards from a sinking enemy vessel which he had just attacked. His healed scars suggested quite some time had passed. I'd like to think it was this same enemy that compassionately rescued him, nursed him back to health and returned him to his loved ones. I'd love to see something similar from the perspective of the Russians and Germans outside of Stalingrad, each performing their duty as soldiers while retaining the best qualities of humanity. Great job to all! P.S. Dasha Perova... wait for me! 😍

At least the COD community has the excuse that a good majority of them consist of kids who just want to run and gun, not grown men who claim to be historians in their own right unlike what we have with WT.

I love historically accurate material. It may sound unimportant, but that is important. When people watch this in 10 or 20 years, such accuracy will be noticeable by any intellectually demanding audience. So my message to the history researchers is "your work will not go unnoticed". I would love you to make a WWII movie about war in the Pacific. I know you will make an impartial movie. And if you have talented writers who are good to make people feel emotions, I am sure your movie will be a hit. Make a movie where politics is taken aside, and you show the average Joe and what they experienced.
