This song is empowering to me. I went to college in Virginia but after my first semester I was sent home due to a lack of funding. My father says he hates me and thinks college is a dumb idea, to me he is the white dog. The black snake to me is satan. In the end I am determined to save up and go back to Virginia....I know thats not what the song is about but thats the meaning it took on for me and I love it
