Wow when I saw the title I was so excited to see this. I am originally from the Rochester ny area. I am now in california. What memories this brought back. I remember when the two malls merged together. Thanks for an absolutely amazing video.

I listen to dozens and dozens and dozens of songs when I do these mall videos and just for fun. When I hear one I really like, I save it just in case I can use it in a mall video. I only use music that feel fits each mall video. Each one is different too. There songs I feel fit one mall video better than another.

I’ve lived here all my life and it’s sad to see the degradation of this mall, consistent violence mixed with less and less walkers has been the downfall of this mall and many others like it, I’ve been going here since I was a kid, parents both worked here, and friends all do aswell, such a great place I wish was back in its prime

I grew up going to the 2 malls to play games in the arcade that was there. My brother and I along with some friends use to ride our bikes from ridgeway Ave and buy school clothes, plus hang out for hours. Glad to see it still doing well, I now live down south

Actually fye didn't close... When this video was filmed they were in the middle of re-opening. This mall used to have a traditional CD/DVD fye up until 2018 when it closed and was brought back in 2021. This mall also used to have a high school and a dz discovery zone in it as well.

This mall is one mile from my childhood home, and I've been actively shopping here regularly since the early 80s. Long Ridge seemed to have more life to it than Greece Towne before the merger. As a kid in the early/mid 80s, I remember the foam block jungle gym in the hallway at 21:22, the huge orange water ball in front of JCPenney's with a rideable train for small children circling it (where the Burlington spot is), and the ball circus apparatus in front of Sears. This mall is performing fairly well based on 21st century standards, but it does have it's share of minor issues with occasional crime. There are some updates since this video was released. Burlington moved into the old Bed, Bath, and Beyond spot so the original Burlington spot is currently vacant. TGI Friday's is out of business as well as Rue 21. Ladies Closet at 13:05 and Podium at 13:30 got shut down by the IRS due to non-payment of taxes. And Regal Cinema is out of business, but is being replaced by Apple Cinema which will open in the coming months. But other than that, for the most part this mall has done a good job keeping the retail spaces full, primarily with stores that are familiar with most shoppers.

The tunnel of the two malls reminds me of coming out of the Fort Pitt Tunnels and seeing the Pittsburgh skyline. That carousel looked like the awesome one they used to have at Century 3 Mall.

The mall/80s music is epic.. keep up the mall tours guys!🤘🥁🎸 good to see a few peeps not wearing masks.. I respect peoples decision to wear one, but man, in a giant mall? There’s like 50 feet between people lol talk about “distancing” 😑

I hear that the old Sears store will become a enclosed storage locker site. Not unusual as it has been done at many, many malls. Really the only hope for large spaces like an old Sears store. We just don't have large retailers anymore that want to be in a mall.

Unfortunately, this mall, and Greece in general are in steep decline. Ruby Gordon, Regal Cinema, TGI Fridays and many of the other stores have closed permanently over the past two years, and crime and violence in the area has increased steadily as well
@iworkout69125 ай бұрын
Not to far away is a Amazon fulfillment center which is larger than this whole mall by a lot.
@OBSDCC75 ай бұрын
@@iworkout6912 That’s one of the factors but I think the increase in crime is a much bigger, more tangible reason.
