Your vids are always so clear and concise. Great. Recently got hold of a digital version which was great to monitor fermentation and temp. My glass hydrometer is one of the cheaper ones though and hard to read, so i will defo be investing in one of your beer specific ones! 👍

The narrow scale starting and finishing versions are the easiest. With a £30 investment you can have both and taking a reading is so easy;)

Hi rob. To be honest my tilts are actually bang on accurate once things have stabilised i.e after high krausen for instance. But i do always confirm this with the traditional glass hydrometer. I hope a lot of newer brewers watch this and, help them understand the importance of always measuring rather than relying on airlock activity etc.

Another great video, thanks Rob. I can recommend the Anton Parr EasyDens as well, an investment but well worth it

Can you recommend a website or calculation that corrects a hydrometer reading for alcohol level when fermentation is finishing ?

Interesting video Rob, my glass hydrometer doesn’t mark “0” when I put pure water (distilled) at 20° (it’s working temperature). Is it any form to correct this calibration mistake? Or scale the result to reality? If you or someone could help I’ll be pleased. Thanks 🙏🏻

What does it read?
@Angelstealth2 жыл бұрын
@@themaltmiller8438 thanks for your reply 😊. It reads 1002-1004 instead of 1000

No, there is no way to calibrate as such. If you purchased it from us then please email in and we will get it sorted.

@@themaltmiller8438 no, from Spain don’t worry. Then, does exist any solution? May I take the 1004 as “0” for example? Thanks
@themaltmiller84382 жыл бұрын
@@Angelstealth Yes you could. Ideally you would find out if that error is the same for the whole range but the only way to do that is with an accurate hydrometer;)
