This is "our favorite song". This song was playing when my wife and I both felt that magical feeling of love in 1968. Now we have been married 50 years! The Momma's and the Poppa's were the greatest harmonizers and complimented each other so well. Momma's voice, wow!

Cass's shift to the natural in her first chorus is so elegant. The tacked piano is a perfect backing for the harmony. She was a vocal gem. I'd love to have had her live longer and decorate our lives further with her beautiful voice.
@Gottenhimfella Жыл бұрын
That's the legendary Larry Knechtel coming up with the piano parts (including that wonderful solo starting at 1:38 ). He was the genius behind the arrangement and piano part on "Bridge over Troubled Water", the Hammond organ for "Good Vibrations", the harpsichord on "MacArthur Park", the lead guitar solo on Bread's "Guitar Man" and the bass guitar on the Byrds "Tambourine Man". And that's just the tip of the iceberg, yet most people have never heard of the guy (sadly, he's dead now)

46, and while part of me regrets being too young to have experienced musicians like this in person, I am happy to be here now. There are so many wonderful things going on in music and arts now all over the world; and while it may not be the same, they are still wonderful in their own way, and we have access to it now that we would not had years ago.

THE mind boggles, Makes me Greet listening to this classic 😭😪🎼🎶😍
