Ok I know this sounds how it does, but singers let out crazy notes and volumes because it’s a thing of skill. I’m definitely not trying to take away from Mama Cass’ performance, it’s probably my favorite version of this song, but it’s actually really impressive when singers can make their voice crazy loud, or do insane whistle notes, but it’s just about time and stamina. This is a goal for a lot of new singers, because it shows experience.

Cass Elliot has always had a very special place in my heart. I was 15 when she died, but had always been sweet on her since I could remember. Another big "... what if..." icon of that era who, leaving us too soon, made us all wonder at the lost potential. Thank God she shined her bright light for us for as long as she did. I still miss her beauty and grace.

I can only imagine what beautiful songs she would have made had she survived. Same with Karen Carpenter, both women lost their lives far too soon and the entire world was robbed of what songs they could have sang. I am thankful for what they did leave us with: superb, timeless gems. Oh, how could I leave out Selena???? My heart physically aches when I think of Selena.
