I feel like part of the reason is really good quarterbacks will never be trainers or coaches because they'll feel it's below their status, or they'll have more lucrative brands or routes to go after retirement (like Romo going into TV). For backup QBs, they have the processing and the understanding of a quarterback but they also get years of watching these amazing QBs play and prepare, and that makes them the ideal candidates for coaching or training
@jazzcabbage17764 жыл бұрын
@@dave1927p you're 100% correct. The Michael Jordans, the Kobes, and Tim bradys of the world work hard yea, but not like those without the elite talent have to. When you don't have that kind of talent, you have to work extremely hard and in doing that, you get to understand how people work. You get a skill that's beyond the sport and makes you better as a person in general. That's why Kobe , Jordan, and Tom bradys of the world don't make good coaches cuz they didn't have to go through a process of being brought up and then back down repeatedly.

Backup QBs in the NFL do a lot of the crazy in depth film studies and analytics for the starting QBs, they also go hand in hand with the coaches during games in deciphering defenses. It’s essentially training them to be coaches

The most notoriety Jordan had a player was during his last year of college ball at UTEP. Jordan was apart of the 2007 NFL draft but he went late 6th round. Jordan was literally a poor man's version of his big brother. Which is no shade at all. I mean his brother Carson was a Heisman winner and went 1st overall in 2003. A poor man's version of Carson got him an 7 year career as a journeyman backup which isn't bad. Many people was unaware of Jordan unless you were a football die-hard like I was at the time. He lasted a good while in the league but obviously his legacy will be as a QB whisperer.
