Every team has to have a motor mouth and Shannon was it! But he always backed up his trash talk with stellar play and a likeable goofiness! Those 96'-98' teams were homegrown w/o much free agency. This was a good video but it seemed likenit was 90% Broncos history with some Shannon stats sprinkled in. I would like more of how he was measuring up compared to ther tight ends, who were the guys that could argue they were better than him at his position? What strenghts and weaknesses separated them? He was one of the first and best receiving tight ends in a time where tight ends were expected to block a lot, how did he measure up with receivers? Stuff like that

Shannon gave his older brother Sterling (who retired because of injuries) some ultimate flowers during his HoF speech. Something like: "I'm the only player in the NFL Hall of Fame, who wasn't the best football player in his family."

Heck, he wasn’t even the best receiver in his own family! Seriously, though, he was very good indeed. A modern comp would be Mark Andrews. Big, strong, precise, reliable.

Shannon was a master at getting into the other teams head! Nobody talked trash like Shannon and backed it up! It was like the Incredible Hulk playing Tight end! I was Steelers fan who became huge fan of both Shannon and Sterling! Sterling was only just hitting his prime he was poetry in motion

He was dependable and always clutch. He was always 1 of the guys you never had to worry about. He was always going to show up. Was never selfish. He always laid it out on the line for the team. He's my 3rd favorite Bronco of All-Time. He's the GOAT TE. The only thing I disagree with him is his LeBron takes. LOL!

Good enough to be top 5 TE all time and good enough to change the way TE play and are covered for ever he diversified and changed the position of TE for ever so thank you Shannon for not only being the player your were but the person you are not gonna lie sports casting wouldn’t be the same without you to so thx uncle Shannon for everything you have done on and off the field.
