@@None-zc5vg Indeed ! I think I read that too years ago: a critic referring to Dane Clark as "the poor man's John Garfield" ! THANKS for your follow up comment. I never did care for Dane Clark. Dane Clark was just the man for this flick; stunts included. In real life he had been quite the two-fisted tough guy as a younger man but smart and successful in aspects professional and matrimonial. Thanks for your good example D.C. This flick is a precursor the James Bond Fords promos. Nice looking Customline followed by several police cars, then the '56 Fairlane, plus a good looking '56 (?) Lincoln ... in addition to a pickup and bob-tailed truck. Also got nice profile and famous engine music of the iconic Harley Davidson police motorcycle. Thanks R.R.

Also Robert Horton, post-"Pony Soldier" and post-"Bright Road." After "Wagon Train," Robert Horton played the title role in the one-season-wonder Western series "A Man Called Shenandoah," which ran on ABC (34 episodes) in 1965-66 - in black and white. (ABC went all-color the following season.)

William Talman did quite a few interesting movie roles in the 8 years between his film debut (1949) and "Perry Mason" (1957), including the following movies (in addition to "The Man Is Armed"): "Red, Hot, and Blue" (his film debut) "The Woman on Pier 13" "The Kid from Texas" (an early Audie Murphy film) "Armored Car Robbery" "The Racket" (as an honest policeman) "One Minute To Zero" "The Hitch-Hiker" "City That Never Sleeps" "Crashout" "Big House, U.S.A." "Smoke Signal" "Two-Gun Lady" "The Persuader" Ironically, his last screen appearance was also in a movie: as District Attorney Charlie Lord in the 1967 film "The Ballad of Josie" (a Western comedy starring Doris Day).

The decline of B movies in the fifties. I got tired of the bad playing acting of Clark playing that same tiring theme and hit the back button at 37 minutes. He was always such a cheap thug looking actor. He and Richard Conte, a much better actor always had cheap hood looks and played the parts of being them.
