Man of La Mancha and Les MIs. are my two most favorite musicals. I listen to any of their songs as often as I can.

Hi Evan, Thanks so much for your comments! I'm so happy you enjoyed this clip. This performance took place at the University of Illinois at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts back in February 2011. Matthew Scollin was the Cervantes in this clip. He is an up-and-coming bass-baritone who is currently an apprentice with Seattle Opera.

Yes...bravo. So inspiring (of the spirit) and beautiful. Moves one fully to the heart. No wonder the tears, the connection. Grateful for all of this: the music, the art, the heart.

Just found this clip just now. I have loved this show since my brother in high school got his first outside gig lighting a college production. I've seen many local productions including one in which the woman shouting out "he's a madman" as if she were, got a standing ovation. I think this is beautiful and will continue to watch it. Sorry to be so many years late.

Very well done, indeed. I have also had the privilege of seeing "Man of La Mancha" in three local intimate theatre productions, the latest in the second row of a 200-seat house. This remains one of my favorite Broadway musicals, and your group is doing it justice.

Your singing is stunning. I played the Housekeeper in a production of this a couple of years ago, and I love the show. I'm using this clip in the playlist for a musical theater history course I'm teaching.

I know this is my third comment but TComb you are Dulcinea you brought her to life I have seen two productions and you made me believe . To you my lady I say .... Not well? What is illness to the body of a knight-errant? What matter wounds? For each time he falls, he shall rise again, and woe to the wicked.

I was going to change this because I don’t usually like Broadway songs sung legit - but the “Dulcinea” reprise moments were heavenly.

T Coambs I keep coming back because this play has a special meaning to my family. Back in 1981 my dad just got out of a divorce from his first wife. He was doing little theater Ma Of La Mancha and a girl who was working on the play introduced my dad to a young girl my mom. My mom became a usherette and started to date my mom

American Camelot died with the Assassinations of the Kennedy Brothers and Martin Luther King Jr. With Watergate the Vietnam War America's morale was hitting rock bottom. This musical came out when needed telling Americans there's hope as long as they have faith. Don Quixote is not dead. Believe Sancho, BELIEVE!

9:45 To dream the impossible dream, To fight the unbeatable foe, To bear with unbearable sorrow To run where the brave dare not go... To run where the brave dare not go, Though the goal be forever too far. To try, though you're wayworn and weary, To reach the unreachable star... To reach the unreachable star, Though you know it's impossibly high, To live with your heart striving upward To a far, unattainable sky!!!!

The reactions of the supporting cast ruin it for me... With all the quiet whispering and soft gestures of unsureness between one another, I was literally left on the edge of my seat...

If there are no dreams, then there are no challenges, consequently as William Shakespeare via the lips of Macbeth, said: life is but a shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon a stage and is heard no more; it’s a tale told by an idiot and is heard no more… . Thank GOD, even the ‘fool’ has dreams that perpetuates his daily existential dreams and give him life and a meaning for his existence!

Nothing's happening between the actors. The others should be transfixed on Aldonza's redemption -- even though they later attempt to drag her away. All their whispering and gesturing destroys the moment. People are just disconnected onstage. They're watching themselves, monitoring themselves. Indicating emotion, no real pain. It should be a resurrection. instead it's a reprise.

This Sancho single handedly ruined this entire scene. What I thought was a pretty good scene was upstaged by someone who thought Sancho should be as expressive as possible.
