It's not just about doing something stupidly dangerous. It's about reproducing. And in that sense, you could (at least in theory) also count people like me, who have just no interest in reproducing (or, for that matter, no opportunity for whatever reason) - the end result is that you leave no impression in the human gene pool. But, again, there's the entertainment aspect, which means that these stories are typically excluded from these discussions - and I mean that as just a statement of fact, not a criticism; were it up to me, I'd make the same decision on what to (usually) talk about. I'm just being pedantic here. (Though I managed to avoid the word "actually" ... oops!)

The tunnels on this track or even a passing train could have easily blown him off. There is a reason why you need pressure-proof trains on high speed lines. The train probably entered the 7,2km long Tunnel before Kinding at near top speed. This stop is a overtaking station where only the RE1 gives a two-hourly service. The ICE does not stop here.
@vomm11 күн бұрын
No way!? There was the possibility he could have been blown off? I had no idea! Thanks for telling us! That's shocking news.
@KaiHenningsen11 күн бұрын
@wernerderchamp That is the reason new tunnels on high-speed lines are always constructed as parallel tubes, never as a combined tube. The railway traffic rules (and yes, there is such a thing; in fact, there are the rules of the federal railway authority (Eisenbahn-Bundesamt EBA), and every large railway company also has its own rules in addition) say that high-speed trains in tunnels are not allowed to meet, say, a freight train in the opposite direction ("Tunnelbegegnungsverbot", TBV). You can solve this in other ways (say via scheduling), but if you only use single-track tube pairs, you can avoid that headache, and that is what is typically done on all new construction.

He saw the train doors closing but still jumped on, holding tight to the rubber connectors between the carriages, and ended up starting the journey of his lifetime. Next stop: Hannover. I wanted to look it up since this happened just a few years ago, and I didn’t want to spam the channel with a false memory 🤪. But guess what? I found a story about a 42-year-old smoker who, afraid of losing his kids, jumped onto a train at Hamburg's main station in the summer of 2019. Then in May 2023, a 39-year-old took a smoke break in Heide (Holstein) and hopped on his regional train for a 10 km ride. And from Bielefeld (basically out of nowhere), a 59-year-old man traveled 25 km between the compartments of an ICE train in September 2017. And those are just the cases I found in northern Germany in the past few years-all within 5 minutes of searching. Everyone should know that "obtaining services under false pretences" is a charge very selectively applied, children, executives and workers will get the "fare evasion" fine from time to time but that will be it. The "false pretences" charge on the other hand is just used to bully undesirables. You don't want to know how many homeless people rot in prison for something that *NEVER* should be more than a fine. Luckily, since prisons don't care who pays the bail most of the time, you can donate to get them out and contribute to society again.

The sad thing is that was one of the easy things that the Ampel government had already agreed on. They wanted to change the law, so it’s only a misdemeanour. But it’s one of the many things they didn’t get around to over all the infighting.

Acctually 🤓👆, your thumbnail shows an ICE 4, and yet you claim that the train went 282 km/h. The ICE 4 can go no faster than 265. Severe clickbait, that is!
@Fry_tag12 күн бұрын
282km/h would point towards class 403/406, 407 or 408. Class 401 and 402 are limited to 280 km/h.

@@Fry_tagYeah, 401/402 are very unlikely, since they usually only go up to 250. Also, they don't accelerate very fast, so it's unlikely they'd be able to reach 282 in the time it took to reach the driver.

All reports are quite a bit dubious. The vast majority of services stopping in Ingolstadt are operated by ICE 2, 4 or T. So 280 kph max. The ever reliable “Bild“ reports it to have been ICE 786, which would mean the reported speed must be greatly exaggerated as that’s an ICE 4 service, limited to 265 km/h. Other sources claim it to have been ICE 584 which consists of two ICE 2 sets. This is slightly more plausible, as the coupling forms a spot to hold onto and that train would reach 280 kph on that service. Maybe it slightly overshot, which isn’t unheard of. However, ICE 584 arrived at Nürnberg with a delay of only two minutes that day. Sounds pretty much impossible considering the additional stop in Kinding. So I‘m seriously baffled as to what transpired there. Seems to me as though someone maybe fabricated parts of the story to make it sound more dramatic. Not that it makes this man‘s actions any bit less dangerous.

Being an ICE, you can be certain that double the fare is more than €60. But fare-dodging as a criminal offense should be abolished. We are, for the most part, throwing people in jail for being poor.

You might see a difference between "being poor" and "consciously using a service you did not pay for".

He was that concerned about losing his luggage? Did he not know he can contact the lost and found service? Did he have a mental disability or something?

Germans used to make "Polish Jokes" in my long past travelling days. Do they now make 'Hungarian Jokes?"

Hey, you made a video shitting on tourists who go to Germany and are interested in their geneological history. It was dripping with arrogance. Just wanted to say, you are completely tone deaf. You should google "luxembourg" and " WW2 nazi propaganda posters". Seems Germans were pretty interested in telling the diaspora that they were german about three generations ago. Just wanted to say cheers and that you should stick to your mundane videos talking about shitville railstations.
