Mark Mark Mark - I cried with you at the end of your journey in Patagonia. What an accomplishment and life experience!!!!!

I love the comment at the end "this feels perfect"....an inspiration to all to reach out and prepare to fulfill your dreams. I know BBC funding must have helped but total respect for Mark's choice of self-filming, solo-travel and sorting out accommodation, repairs and supplies mostly by himself! Have enjoyed following this journey with mark and also the "Cycle the World"....this is what sharing the adventure is all about...inspiring others!

A highly inspirational display of ambition and fortitude. Congratulations Mark, on all of your achievements including the recent round the world trip in 80 days. All of your endeavours show staggering levels of physical and mental fortitude which can only be admired.

What an inspirational man! I have only recently got into cycling and came across these videos (I have watched both series). Loved every minute of them! Thank you so much! Whilst I was on the road yesterday my legs were saying I needed to stop.... I just thought of Mark Beaumont and kept going!! My only criticism is the BBC have taken down the web page mentioned at the end! Pity!

+Ezeebeady His video inspired me to do a 120 mile journey from Pattaya to Bangkok, made me do something out of my comfort zone. He did it day after day though, which is something entirely different. Mark Beaumont is a super tough and likeable guy.

I've started cycling again after 20 years. The worst bit is when my legs start to hurt. As you said, he is an inspiration. It's amazing what you see when on a bicycle.

Thank you for sharing these videos......I remember watching them on tv but it's nice to go back and watch them when I'm having a crappy day. If this hardy bugger can cycle and climb like a targer, then I can get through a shitty day. Yet again I'm in awe of a fellow Scottish person :0)

My Dear World Cyclist: You missed the best part of the whole South American trip: Colombia! Therefore...your trip was outstanding but, not complete! I am just kidding I am sorry! I think Colombia is extremely beautiful! It has to be just envy since I would have wanted to accompany you for at least 100 kms! Great videos! keep living! keep enjoying!

This guy is beyond words, how he battles on day after day against the wind, climbing up so many hills and climbing two incredibly tough mountains, he has so much inner strength to just keep going, this deserves way more likes, what an amazing man!

I think it is a Kona, aluminum frame (it looks too thick) and shocks, with disc brakes, ...I would say this combination is the heaviest, wouldn't you?

I just finished reading the book. It's quite a different experience from the doco... It's richer. If you enjoyed this, then I'd recommend the book. Great respect to Mark, he's hard as nails but seems to keep good Grace under pressure. Unique guy.

What an amazing Adventure... unfortunately he missed some gems, he skipped Colombia (I guess for personal safety as he did with Honduras) but also Ruta 40 in Patagonia (Argentina) & Carretera Austral (Chile) as he went down to Ushuaia through the Atlantic shore (instead of following the Andes) riding Ruta 3 :)

I bet he loves high tech fabrics. Fast dry, no chafing, warm when you need it, breathable and cool when you need that. Out in the desert one has time to ponder an appreciation of such things.

Lame is your education. The Rockies stretch from Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado and and New Mexico on the US side plus Canada. He rode through the Rockies. Maybe time to take your head of of your ass.

Far out steak chunks, camel, whatever, peppers, potatoes, onions, dates, raisins and lashings of sauce and flatbread I say. Busted belly, total content. Couple of thousand calories there, fat, the lot. Would taste amazing, in the pot. What chance of that?

Dude, with all of your travelling you should know about eating Yakult yogurt. This stuff has the highest concentration of bacteria of any yogurt made. I visit Mexico a lot and have found that I don't get food poisoning or the GI's when I regularly drink this stuff. I've even drank it after I've gotten sick and found it puts those amoeba's in their place in a couple of hours.

Isa L It was in the route, because Colombia has the Andes mountains for the full length of the country. He should have taken the ferry to Cartagena and started with the Andes in north Colombia ! Mexico and several central America countries have the worst murder rates in the world! He also avoided one of them by driving. Despite this I love the video and he is a great cyclist.
