Mr. Jimmy MacDonald, was a very talented man, awesome the way he made the soud effects out of some simple items, of course this was way before they had the machines, that would make these sound effects, now when I see one of these classic movies, it*s amazing how one person alone could create these sound effects, like on the Love Bug.

I used to work in at a Home Hardware store here in Canada when I was Late teenager. I used to do an imitation of the glass Lamp Chimney Bear/Beast trick every so often from across the store for a laugh. Kids and contractors alike used to get a kick out of it.

That's a fun thing. Old lamp chimneys are mostly found in second-hand stores, you use your voice to make the sound work good but it also depends on the design of the glass shade.

It's also said that some of Jimmy's sound effects had to be performed on the fly during recording sessions so he had to get it done just right.

I wish this tribute would have told a bit more about Jimmy McDonald's voice work. He was equally excellent at that. Though, at least now we know for sure that Lumpjaw from "Fun and Fancy Free" was voiced by him and not by Candy Candido.

Disgraceful how the Director and the production staff of the Fully Loaded film never reused any of those Love Bug film sound effects in the Fully Loaded film. Oh Welp the film itself sucked and was Disgraceful
