I’m spotted at 10:44, I always give Ed an heads up when I’m coming through during a daylight run. It’s always nice seeing Ed out by the tracks. I’m going to hang a poster out the window that says “Hello Ed”.

Ed reminds me of the gentleman that lived along the RF&P in Ashland, VA. I believe his name was "Shirts" Blanton or something like that. He waved to every train and I heard he occasionally caught defects and reported them to the dispatcher. I would wave to him on all my trips from NY to Florida, even using a flashlight at night.

At a party I met a woman at a party whose house was so close to the tracks of the Durango & Silverton that you couldn't talk on the phone when the train was blowing for a nearby grade crossing. And quite often the smoke from the steam engine would drift into the house & the doors & windows had to be shut. I never left that party & now its 26 years & 11 months together. And she still doesn't appreciate the sweet smell of coal smoke!

I have spent some time with Ed and can tell you he is the real deal. I shot trains from this property long before he moved in and was always thinking that it would be a great home site. It is a shame the "I" line is almost train free, it is very scenic and I am glad I shot it as much as I did. Great vid guys ! See you at Howardsville , TN. someday soon !

I have 18 months left to get to the end of what will be 43 years on the "the grind" and every move I make today is focused toward retirement on March 31st, 2023. I've been scouring the Internet for a piece of property like this one. The photo at 13:15 must be Brownsville,Pa. My guess about 1970/71. By 1974 that white stripe was very dirty. I was in Brownsville in 1977. Missed the sharks by just 3 years! All they had there was a GP and 2102. They had us sign a release. They simply erased the previous name(dated in the early 70s)and had us sign. Made it back in 1979 and was able to photo the 2002,,Bicentennial GP38. (and Bicentennial caboose!) About 1991 made it back(Waynesburg) and photoed the rebuild GE's. In 1978, We made it to *ichigan and found 1205 and 1216. 1 runnable, the other with the prime mover out.

Nice. Job. Good voice, awesome narration. Excellent railroading footage east of the Miss'ippi! I grew up in the mid-west (MN, WI, 5 years in Tulsa), 18mo's Bellingham, WA, and now in BC, Canada. I watch Danny Harmon's videos as well as DIB Production. I'm close to 53 and seeing elder folks build and run model trains give me great inspiration for my years ahead. Keep up the good works. *Note "Thumbs Down" are from those the lower side Equator, like Australia... it's up-side-down, there. Those are added "Thumbs-Up", eh! John Maybe Ed would put up a VRF camera for the rest of the world to watch "his" trains?
