When they call you the God of Tekken, they expect you to destroy the competition.
But power isn’t enough. Perfection is the goal.
Because when his reign is nothing more than history, future converts will look back and see that Knee is the God of Tekken.

He might not be as popular as others, even in the FGC, but what he did to keep the Tekken scene alive throughout the scene's toughest years, and his attitude towards challenges is a shining example of what esports and competition should always try to emulate. I was hoping you’d mention what happened to Knee’s awards (trophies, medals) that he put on display at Green Arcade. Long story short, when the arcade shut down, they got smashed up without a second though. He was never asked if he wanted them back and nobody bothered to try and preserve them beforehand. Having spent a lot of time over there trying his best to push the Tekken scene and knowing the owners very well, he felt very betrayed and was extremely disappointed. There were some that were recovered, but this clearly upset him a lot, and yet he still pushed forward as the best player in history.

The part at 4:49 is an example of how bad it is. The subtitles: In Korea, the expectation is to go to school, get a good job, and get married, but since pursuing Tekken I never fit into those standards. In my 20s, I joined the army and had plans of going to school and getting a job but that didn’t happen. What Knee actually said: 제가 20대 초반에 철권을 제일 잘하고 싶어서 열심히 했었는데 (In my early 20s, I wanted to be very best at Tekken and put all my effort into it) (At the time, I had dropped out of college and became absorbed into just Tekken) (But in Korea.. getting into a good college, getting a good job, getting married.. there are these kinda steps in life and...) (because I had completely separated myself from that [direction in life], couldn't it be said that I had failed, socially speaking.) (So after returning from my military service, I had thoughts about putting down Tekken, studying to get into college, and finding a good workplace from time to time). The subtitles are leaving out a lot of what Knee said, and many times, they don't match up with what he's saying. For example, the Korean societal expectations appears somewhere in the middle of his paragraph, but the subtitles have it smack in the beginning, when he's talking about getting obsessed with Tekken.

Absolute godlike player from Japan. His win was actually pretty crazy. People did not think Japan had a chance at winning or even doing well during the Tekken world tour finals. People had Korea, Pakistan, and even America doing better than the Japanese. But Japan was red hot out of the gate, because everyone was preparing for each other but not preparing for Japan, and Japan really wanted to prove themselves. Normally you don't think of Japan as underdogs in fighting games, so them doing so well was super hype. It was a sight to see every single Japanese player storm the stage and jump on Chikurin when he won. Just a small note is he's not from Tokyo or Osaka where the vast majority of top players are from. He is from far west Japan so it's been interesting to see the best player in Japan come from there.

In humans and other primates, the knee joins the thigh with the leg and consists of two joints: one between the femur and tibia (tibiofemoral joint), and one between the femur and patella (patellofemoral joint). It is the largest joint in the human body. The knee is a modified hinge joint, which permits flexion and extension as well as slight internal and external rotation. The knee is vulnerable to injury and to the development of osteoarthritis.
