Now they better not make Din, Bo and Grogu take out those Praetorians easily. Season 2 did a great job of showing the power gap between a skilled Mandalorian and a Jedi Master (Din almost died fighting one Dark Trooper, Luke casually took them all out). Sure in the sequels the Praetorian guard gets destroyed by Rey and Kylo Ren but they're force users and proficient with lightsabers, it stands to reason a Mandalorian would struggle like hell to kill a single Praetorian

"Rivals"... ehhhh. More like annoying inconviences lol. I feel like Moff Gideon is gonna be an ant compared to Thrawn's plans lol. And I feel like the show is making it that way. It seems that Moff Gideon is just obsessed with the Mandalorians, and that's truly where he's gonna become more of a liability for the future "Empire" than an actual advantage. I feel like Gideon can't last now that Thrawn is coming and I don't think they'll take Gideon on to Ahsoka. So I guess it'll all depend on whether or not S4 of The Mandalorian is set to air before the big Filoni movie.

Just to reinforce what you said, it's not just the amount of training, because of their history and culture (internal strife) the Mandalorians also know how to fight others in beskar armor. You give a stormtrooper armor and a jetpack, yeah, he is going to be tougher and more maneuverable, but he won't suddenly have a 1000+ year tradition of heavy armored combat to call upon.

Paz died a death worthy of a Mandalorian and at least House Viszla didnt end with him. I loved that scene and I think it was much more important than Grogu just being sweet. It shows he learned from his time with Luke and it shows he has been paying very close attention to Bo when she says that Mandalorians are stronger together and need to stop in fighting. That is why he gave that little nod at the end of the scene. I know some people are a bit frustrated he hasnt had as much screen time this season or character growth but I have been watching him, and he is observing everything intently, taking it all in, learning lessons from those around him. He has the potential to be an amazing leader, he has had great role models in Din, Bo and Luke - and maybe more to come from Ashoka, Sabine, Hera and Ezra, who knows

Favorite moments: 1) Din having to give Grogu some autonomy. 2) Din pledging himself to the Princess. Last episode reinforced how she was respected. The three from the ship reinforce her importance in the culture. He is Lancelot. He must be honorable and pledge himself till the end. 4) The subtle nuanced moments of Din instructing Grogu to stay back or run. No way to train a youngling about battle but in battle. Also, when Din is capture, they framed Bo’s reaction. Intensely emotional. They didn’t show Grogu’s emotional response, but her. They have connected beyond a leader and a fellow traveler. He is her champion. You see when he asks her for direction as the two knuckleheads fight. 5) Din admits - second time - that he didn’t show Grogu to play mediator or in force peace rather than take it too far. He is secure enough with who he is to admit Grogu’s character is not tied to him. 6) Paz’s death was extremely emotional. Immediately you think of his son. They are solitary people, but they are also a community. Now the covert must raise his son. He inherits the family responsibility. Powerful. I I am not a watcher of any of the other stories - the animated stories are not easy for me to connect to no matter how badly I wish. I am only familiar with the films and the Disney stories. Never had an opinion that is negative about any of them I only ask, what are they trying to accomplish and how will they connect it later. This is because as a theatre person - director and educator - I value creativity more than my ego. I enjoy and celebrate the details and understand that they have a long game I know nothing about. You asked what we thought. I agree that we should hang in and not expect redundancy with structure, character development, plot advancement or even connectivity. That just defies what Lucas wanted - fun. We were supposed to be kids watching these stories unfold. Abandon ourselves to cheer or hiss at the turns - Gideon had the best moment - “me” all over the scenes. That narcissism will be his down flaw! Great writing, great direction, great acting, and smart producing. Loved it all. This had many moments building

And Hector - reading Legends in high school, a few years after release (I live in Australia, things could take a while) is what ended up scoring me my best friend and housemate. So it's kind of bittersweet seeing Thrawn - they brought Zahn in to rejig him for the Disney timeline, which makes it easier, but there are (inevitable) changes that just sit funny. Din has been traveling with a force baby who has developed his powers...gideon may be covering his bases just in case Din knows where some of the remaining Jedi are hiding. If his spies have been reporting everything to him .,.he could easily suspect this. Din would also know where the remaining mandos are hiding and possibly New Republic info too . When he said "debriefing room" I interpreted that as "interrogation /torture room" . They're going to strip Din of his armor and helmet for humiliation and stress him out, making it easier to get info from him. ALSO, it just occurred to me that Gideon knows Grogu will come for Din , so he'd make great bait. Grogu is the one they really want .

I think Gideon’s going to remove Din’s helmet in public. He fights DIRTY. We have no idea if Bo-Katan ever saw his face at the end of S2. Star Wars is going very very deep with the personal stakes with this character. Din Djarin’s a chosen knight to the Princess of Mandalore. He’s her champion. Sound familiar? This is a King Arthur/Gueneviere (Bo), Lancelot (Din), and Mordred (Gideon) triangle. 💫

@Adam Miller My husband and I were cracking up when we were watching it this morning. Grogu is like, "sorry Dad, but I'm keeping it."

Yup. It could go from The Mandalorian to The Mandalorians much like Falcon and The Winter Soldier changed to Captain America and The Winter Soldier at the end.

I think Mandalorian could be both singular and plural honestly. Wouldn't need to change a thing.

That show should have been called Captain and Bucky at the end. It takes away from the whole character arc Bucky went through to change Falcons name in the bed but not Bucky’s.

10:58 its 100% because the armorer is rook kast. And thats why she sounds so "ironic" when she speaks.

One of my best friends loved the Heir to the Empire books. The last Star Wars movies really turned him off the franchise. When he heard Thrawn's name get dropped back in S2, he perked his ears up. He is now being drawn back in, because he loved how they did Thrawn in the books. He's currently watching Clone Wars and Rebels to get ready for it. This is what this show should be doing.

This episode was insane! So pumped for next week

I could see a Thrawn appearance just for a minute because he wants Gideon's attention and disagrees that a rebuilding Mandalore is a threat to his plans.

One thing I love is all the people that spent their hard earned money and countless hours crafting the perfect Din Djarin Mando cosplay……. Only for Moff Gideon to show up in the most bad ass Mandalorian armor I have ever seen.

Everyone is so busy speculating about who the spies are , they seemed to have missed that Din is going to be interrogated and tortured in the next episode. They're going to strip his helmet/armor off of him. Din might know info they want, but Moff may also assume that Grogu will come to rescue him. Grogu is the one they want.

Like what Hector said about Dave and Jon playing with action figures. Its like both of playing the figures like Dark Helmet playing with the Spaceballs action figures but for creating Mando episodes.

I thinks the next episode is going to reveal that moff gideon is a mandalorian who was a darth maul follower and when maul was defeated Gideon joined the empire. The reason I say this is 1. His helmet has horns 2. His chest peace has the same imprint as the other mandalorians have

You know the Armorer will deck out IG-12 for Grogu, making him the next Mandalorian Heavy. **IG-12 reloads chain-gun, starts shooting Imperials** IG-12: Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.

Crazy to see Captain Pellaeon in real life. Yet overall, this maybe the best episode The Mandalorian has ever aired. Tons of action, twists, great cameos, and amazing moments. Love every single moment. I don't know why, but I have a feeling there is going to be a tease of Thrawn in the finale, or something that will lead into Ahsoka.
