For Mandalore! The followers of the creed have returned, united! Man that planet is as hardy as those who take the Creed. To quote Ian Malcolm, “life finds a way.” Time to start scavenging that beskar off of the dead Imperials and melting it down for the next generation of foundlings (that and I’m disgusted by it being defiled by the Imperials, only Mandalorians or those truly worthy of Beskar should have it, not Imperials) and let’s find out where the Imps were mining it and let’s pick up where they left off. Also if there’s any surviving data in the base, they need to extract it and see if they can track down any other Imperial remnant locations or movements and keep an eye on them while they rebuild.

Thanks, Christian! Thanks, Madison! 🚀 Since y'all wondered... yes, those from Mandalore have their given names first and family names last. 'Din Djarin' is from Aq Vetina, though... so, his culture does the family names first. ❧ This was triumphant! Never saw sooooo many *rising* *phoenixes* (jetpacks) at one time in one place! #MACReact #StarWars #TheMandalorian #DinGrogu

The previous episode Dave Filoni showed up in, others at the bar were Deborah Chow and Rick Famuyiwa too. All three were xwing pilots in season one, the ones who blew up the sketchy friends station in the breakout episode.

-You have to remember, Din Djarin isn't a Mandalorian. He wasn't born on mandalore, he was adopted. His naming may be the way it was don on his home planet of Aq Vetina. Plus he was envisioned as a Ronin. His naming may have been purposely done in the way of Japanese naming where the Surname is always first. -That was Dave. He was also in the previous episode with directors Rick Famuyiwa and Obi-Wan Kenobi's director Deborah Chow....

From a story point of view, Din is a foundling and was old enough to remember his old life and family. I guess where hes originally from, the names are written in the eastern way common in many asian countries with the surname first and then the given name. When Din was adopted into the Watch, he probably kept his name that way to honor his roots, and I actually love it because the show has made it a point that Mandalorians can be anyone and come from anywhere, so long as they choose the walk the Way. So its probably the beginning to show how multicultural the Mandalorians actually are. From the writers and producers side, maybe they thought Din Grogu sounded better than Grogu Djarin lol who knows Im guessing way down the line when we get to Dave Filoni's movie where it's supposedly supposed to have all the storylines of the Star Wars shows converge Avengers style, we'll probably get to see Grogu tame the Mythosaur. Makes sense considering the only other person to do so was Tar Vizsla, who probably utilized the Force for Beast Mastery, something we've seen Grogu use with the Rancor. I dont think Grogu will be Manda'lor, just the Mythosaur's tamer/rider

I used to be on Star Wars messageboards during the prequel era and speculated and pondered and anticipated for six years. That along with "The Clone Wars" and the big question of Ahsoka's fate, along with following the show "Lost" trained me that things will never go as speculated. That is kind of a good thing, though. Watching all these Mandalorians makes me wish I would have gotten more Boba Fett action figures back when I was 7 years old or so and customized them. Since I only knew the movies and not comics, I only knew him and that look as Boba Fett, nothing more.

Another great reaction. I love how into the show you both get and that you have so much fun watching this content. Also..loving the "end credit scenes" you leave at the end of your reactions. Good luck with your "Pedro Pascal" content free time. 😆 But my fave was the one at the end of that Andor episode when Christian remarked that Luthen's speech about "fighting for a sunrise he'd never see"....calls back to the way Rogue One ended. Sorry, but I loved how touched Madison was by that and you could immediately see her connect the moments and react. Now for this episode.... I admittedly wondered who "the spies" might be before understanding the real meaning behind the title. I initially thought it was the people Moff was "zoom" calling at the start of Episode 7. But as that eppy went on I started to fear it was other people based on some of the action (Axe telling ALL the other Mando's that he'd take care of the ship)...and all the years of television and drama I've watched, which have trained me to be suspicious. LOL! But I was thrilled to be wrong and later realize "The Spies" had a deeper meaning. I can't take credit for this. I saw the explanation on another reaction channel, then looked it up myself. It refers to The Twelve Spies, sent by Moses to scout the Land of Canaan as a future home for the Israelites. During the Civil War, the words 'spies' and 'scouts' were used interchangeably. In the last episode, I think it was 12 Mandalorians total, who went down to the planet to scout and secure it before the rest of the settlers. Bo-Katan actually says something about going "ahead of the settlers"... in the 7th episode. But I'm sure Jon and Dave examine every aspect of this writing...they must have known that anyone who wasn't familiar with that Biblical story would think the title referred to someone who might carry out a betrayal. They've been at this a long time and they know how to craft dialogue to build intrigue or alleviate suspense or. I'm sure they had a little chuckle thinking..."the audience is gonna wonder...is it Axe?...is it the Armourer?...is it someone else?" And they had a little fun with that. Either way it made for a tension filled penultimate and finale episodes. Of all 3 seasons, these 2 episodes were the most intense in terms of me worrying how things were going to turn out. And I'm satisfied with where they left it. The Mandos have their planet back and are going to rebuild. Din has his son and a nice little Craftsman home on Nevarro...and the freedom to go on more selective adventures with Grogu. And we'll spend the next several months building other parts of this world in further preparation for wherever this is all going. Next stop, the Ahsoka show. I'm good with that.

I believe with naming him Din Grogu is because he's adopted while with Bo and the others they were biological children so they got the last name passed down. Just a guess though. Also to me Din Grogu sounds better than Grogu Jarin.

The theory about the armorer was just weird. I love you guys channel....don't get it twisted. It was just weird how everybody's reactions all said the exact same things. My prediction "before the Mandalorian series comes to a final end we will see Din Grogu ride the Mythosaur". The Armorer's words in The Book of Boba Fett episode 5 she mentioned a prophecy of a Mandalorian Chosen One. "The songs of eons past foretold of the Mythosaur rising up to herald a new age of Mandalore. The Dark Saber was created by Tarre Vizsla who was both Mandalorian and Jedi now we have a Mandalorian Apprentice/Jedi that looks like he can maybe communicate with the Mythosaur? 🤨 hmmm?

I already said about the last Episode, the Mandalorian doesn't have to be dark or gritty. I actually liked a warm and good Episode of Hope here without all the drama. But it was well placed for a finale. Not the best, but still a 8.5/10 for me.

Regarding the name thing, the only scenario that makes sense is a foundling apprentice takes on their ward's first name. In Grogu's case, he only had the single name so I guess that becomes his surname? Otherwise every major mando has a normal western style given name/surname setup. It's only logical that since this is really the only instance we've dealt with foundlings at all, that they would have a different convention than a traditional mandalorian. I dunno, this show makes some odd choices sometimes... like the decision to have Axe be able to fly into orbit without burning up in atmosphere. This is by far the strangest thing they could have done and I won't get tired of ripping on it until there's an actual explanation; it opens the door to so many things that break established lore & continuity. First of all it completely broke that episode when everyone's jetpacks ran out of fuel for no reason. Second, I mentioned him burning up in atmosphere, if Mandalore functions at all like our own planet then when the space shuttle enters/exits atmo/orbit it gets up to 1477° C (2691° F). You're telling me the dude wearing a mechanic suit with a couple pieces of armor over x% of his body is enough for that? Not to mention it's probably something like 20-50 miles straight up from the surface to where the ship was. Third, this opens the door to Gideon potentially being alive, not that I'm counting on it, but if we apply the same logic from Axe to Gideon then his armor should have been able to handle that explosion's heat. See what I'm getting at? And lastly, I'm not okay with being teased with an epic space battle only to get cockblocked. So much wasted potential with the mando fleet thing being built up for zero payoff.

What Axe did was no different than a HALO jump. The ship was in high altitude low orbit. It was still within the upper atmosphere, not in space, thus Axe could reach the ship without burning up because he never left the atmosphere & entered space.

@@cd5sircoupe The ship was just above the clouds. If it had been in space, the other Mandos who abandoned ship using their jetpacks would not have been able to just jump out of the open bay & fly into the clouds. Besides, unless space is the same color as the Mandalore sky, it was in the upper atmosphere. Even when it was being attacked, the flames on the hull were burning the same way they would in atmosphere.

my guess with the naming is: its different for foundlings compared to "born mandalorians" like bo or paz Bo-Katan was born into the house/clan Kryze, but Mando (Din) was a foundling. so far, we dont know if he kept his birth name (he was old enough to remember his name and parents in the flashbacks) or if "Din Djarin" was the name given to him by the mandalorians but yeah, maybe foundlings have a different naming system than born mandalorians (im sure someone who knows more about mandalorians than me can clear things up :D) regardless, i will call them Din Djarin and Grogu Djarin because having 2 Dins feels weird to me, i dont like that.. and eventually, maybe we get (Sir) Din Grogu Kryze, the foundation for BoDin has been done so who knows where s4 leads us

Grogu Djarin really doesn’t slide off the tongue. I thought of Din as how some cultures have the surname first.
@kivimik
@kivimik Жыл бұрын
It's simpler than that. As KCohere33 says, other cultures here on Earth have the surname first. The implication is that the planet where Din Djarin is from, Aq Vetina, used the Family-Name Given-Name convention. I find your refusal to accept Din as a family name rather disturbing because while it is a fictional name, it has real world implications about how one respects other cultures.
@karouakiva1714
@karouakiva1714 Жыл бұрын
@@kivimik In my opinion, it would be kind of odd if the explanation was that it was because Din Djarin kept the naming convention of his home world. It seems to me that they consider their identity as mandalorians first and individuals second, like never taking off the helmet and giving everything they earned to the covert. Almost nobody even knew Din Djarin's name, like he said in the first season, people jus called him Mando or the Mandalorian. So why, when Din Djarin was rescued and accepted by them, would they let him keep something so individual to him as the naming convention of his home world? Why wouldn't they follow Mandalore's convention, which seems to be given-name first, surname second?

I wasn't impressed by this finale tbh, not sure why. It was like, too much and something missing at the same time. I mean, the fighting scenes were nice but the story? Mehh, kinda cheesy and predictable... Idk it has too much Disneyish vibe to me. Even Grogu's big scene should be powerful but it wasn't. When Kanan did a similar thing in The Rebels I remember I was crying like a baby it was so powerful... but now, I was like ''Cool 😐' Also, I really expected to see Thrawn, especially when I saw the title 'Return' 😳😮‍💨 Too bad we didn't get him even in the post-credit scene, it would be nice touch before Ahsoka show, imo.
