This was the first episode ever where we didn’t see Grogu. Bill Bur was so good in this episode. I really liked all of the commentary and philosophical messages and subtle humor this episode. And Dyn is such a cutie! I felt like I was intruding on something intimate when he took the helmet off and we got a good look at him. And Mayfield doing him two solids over the course of a few minutes. He really grew on me this episode. This episode taught us that beliefs can be altered when times get tough and that it’s ok if it lets you sleep at night. Also do not mess with Dyn and his baby. That last scene hit different after that episode. It was so much more impactful hearing Dyn use Gideon’s monologue against him and coming to terms with his emotions from last episode. I got chills. It was so badass!

Ah, yes, we get to see Pedro's handsome face! Our hero is a total hottie. : ) That whole scene from start to finish was so very well done. For me, so much of it was about the eyes. After Din had removed the helmet and then heard that officer calling to him, Din cut his eyes over towards the officer for a moment, but kept on working on the data download. As he realized that officer was walking over to him, Din closed his eyes for a moment-knowing he was about to show his face to the first person to see him since he'd taken his oath to the creed and donned the Mandalorian helmet. And, for a brief moment Din was beskar steely eyed when he looked back at the irate officer. I laughed when Mayfeld told the officer that Din was hard of hearing, and the officer yelled a question at Din-and Din briefly widened his eyes and lifted his eyebrows. I laughed when Mayfeld called him Brown Eyes, and laughed again after the officer invited them for a drink and called Din-Brown Eyes, and Din shot a sour look at Mayfeld for sticking him with that goofy name. There were a lot of looks exchanged between the two of them through out that scene, including some serious ones. That ever so slight shake of the head Din gave Mayfeld as he was warning Mayfeld not to go there in that conversation with the officer at the table. And that stunned look on Din's face when Mayfeld hauled off and shot that officer, and everyone in the room froze for a moment, and then all hell broke loose. Pedro and Bill play off of each other really well. They are both great actors. I hope Mayfeld returns to the story and sticks around. He's gleefully irreverent when taking verbal jabs at others and blurts out hilarious comebacks, he hangs tough under pressure even while throwing smart ass comments over his shoulder, he's thoughtful and cuts right through the bs with pointed observations, and he is a crack shot-especially with that rifle. I like him.

I absolutely love how Din didn't just mock Moff Gideon with his own monologue from Season 1, but he also made a sworn vow to get his son back from him and that there's nothing in the galaxy or the Empire's entire fleet will stop him from doing so! Dad of the Year without question!

You know what would be really interesting? If they find Grogu but he doesn’t immediately recognize them or panicks and starts force choking Mando either because of misidentifying him or he’s been semi:brainwashed. And he has to say something or show him that knob to get him to snap out of it. Showing his face in that moment might just make him panic more. But I do think Grogu will see his face next episode or early next season.

My favorite part was when Mando a.k.a. "Brown Eyes" threw Moff Gideon's words from chapter 7 back in his face in chapter 15.
@petrgalko41524 жыл бұрын
That ending! "He means more to me than you will ever know!". Din's face is in the Imperial database, meaning his creed was broken and is no longer a Child of The Watch! Din is no longer a Mandalorian! He sacrificed his future for the future of the child. Like Qui Gon tried to do for Anakin! Din started another Battle of Destinies!
@petrgalko41524 жыл бұрын
@Michaelle Green Bo Katan is no longer a Mandalore. She said so herself. She needs the dark saber in order to rule over Mandalore again. She has no power without it. + Since season 2 made EU Boba pretty much canon again, HE might be the new Mandalore!
@petrgalko41524 жыл бұрын
@Michaelle Green Also since Din was taken in by the watch and was not born a pure-blooded Mandalorian his claim to the title of Mandalorian comes and goes as long as he fulfills his oath/duty. He sacrificed that right to save Grogu.

The speech had so much more meaning... this time :) When Moff Gideon said those words they were sinister and it was obvious he was talking about a "thing". This time, it was heartfelt and you can tell Mando was talking about a loved one.

Another great episode. I loved that Mando quoted back to Moff Gideon is words from season 1 episode 7; “You have something that I want. You may think you have some idea what you are in possession of but you do not. Soon he will be back with me. He means more to me than you will ever know.” Gave me such chills😏 Never come between a parent and their child and from Gideon's expression, I think he is realizing that now😁

My hope for the reunion scene with Din and Grogu would be for Din to take his helmet off when they see each other. A long warm stare and then Din embraces his child as a loving father. That sir would be Dope. ;)

@jeffburnham66114 жыл бұрын
I don't think Mando thinks of him as a son, more like a mission objective his clan gave him to complete. It's all about Clan honor with Mandalorians, and Din isn't going to stop until the mission is completed, or he and Grogu are dead. He was prepared to leave him in the care of Ahsoka and even told Grogu if a Jedi shows up he has to go with them.
@justme49984 жыл бұрын
