Not only is Bill Burr a fantastic comic but he’s a heavily underrated actor, when he’s talking to his old officer in the base it just hits so different

Actors like Tom Hanks, who started his career in comedy movies, or Jim Carrey whose first movie I watched was no comedy at all, (way before The Mask or Ace Ventura), they are great actors when it comes to portray serious characters. And I don't know Bill Burr's career, as far as I know from KZbin, he's a stand-up comedian, but I guess he's well capable of serious acting due to his experience in the media.

Don't get me wrong on Finn but Mayfield is a better show of a formal imperial trooper defecting. Just like Kallus we get to know these characters perspective on war, casualties, beliefs, and lastly right and wrong. It's a shame they couldn't do that more for the sequel trilogy characters.

Fun fact: When they mentioned Operation Cinder that’s actually a huge reference to Star Wars Battlefront 2, it might have also been referenced in comics as well but definitely referenced in Star Wars Battlefront 2!!!! Where they used satellites to disrupt weather from certain planets, make it do to lightning

There’s something inherently tragic about that trooper that awkwardly walks in with a lunch tray after the shooting and gets gunned down themselves. The episode is supposed to show the various ideologies of those who have served the Empire, the zealots like the officer and the disenfranchised foot soldiers suffering from PTSD like Mayfeld. Was the trooper a true believer in the cause or was he jaded and mourning the loss of friends but was trapped in the army. Probably reading too much into it but stuff like that does make you wonder

That message Mando delivered to Moff Gideon at the end was the same message Gideon said to Mando in season 1 when he has Mando pinned down in the bar. Just swapped some words like, “Soon, it will be mine” -> “Soon, he will be back with me”

He took his helmet off for the droid in the first season. In this one it’s to show how much he cares about Grogu (baby yoda), that he goes against his religion to find him. And then I assume you’ve already watched it, but he does it one more time to show how much he loves little Grogu

I heard Bill Burr improvised a lot of his lines. But on a serious note Burr can act, that look on his face right before he offs the officer... just damn. My grandfather used to sometimes have that face, he freed concentration camp survivors.

Burr was excellent in this one. The whole episode was very good. Especially the vehicle part and when TIEs came in. One of the best episodes of the season. And the ending speech to Gideon... Shots fired, nice turn

I see Boba repainting his armor as a fresh start now that his armor has returned to him, all the old scuffs and scratches are like battle scars, proof of the history of both the wearer and the armor, but with it been taken and getting it back all the mark may feel unearned and will now start over

Highly explosive, we saw it in The clone wars and rebels. 9:25 Shoretroopers from Rogue one 12:29 Operation Cinder Reference to Fallen Order (When the Imperials used antennas to create storms and destroy Imperial planets) 15:46 Jango Fett used the same type of seismic bombs when fighting Kenobi in Attack of the Clones. 17:09 Mando told Gideon the same line that Gideon said in his first scene in Season 1.

For context, Operarion Cynder was put in action right after the second Death Star blew up and it was Palpatine's contingency plan if something happened to him. Basically, the Empire would take these special satellites into orbit around Imperial planets and what the satellites did was they messed up the atmosphere and basically wrecked the weather patterns and made the planets inhabitable. It was basically a punishment to Imperial worlds for their failure to protect Palpatine. The rest of the contingency plan was to then more or less intentionally lose to the Rebellion and purposely get most if the rest of the Empire destroyed and then have the small remnants retreat to the Unknown Regions to start rebuilding, which would leave the galaxy believing the Empire was gone while they were actually secretly rebuilding their strength, and then they eventually come back as the First Order. And by then, no one pays any attention to them because to the rest of the galaxy, the Empire has been long gone for decades. So Operation Cynder was the start of that whole process which basically destroyed Imperial worlds and killed most if not everyone on them

I don't know if you caught it, but Mando's little speech at the end is almost word-for-word what Moff Gideon said when he demanded the child during the stand off in the first season. I think that's part of why Moff Gideon looked like he was sucking lemons.

I love this episode so much. One of my favorites. I just noticed the Cinder reference, it flew right over my head last time I watched because I hadn't played Battlefront II or read the Alphabet Squadron trilogy yet. I hope we see Mayfeld again in the future, such a good character. Great reaction, excited for the finale! And to answer your question, Boba's ship is definitely my favorite from a design point of view!

Episode 5 we get Ahsoka. Episode 6 we get Boba Fett. Episode 8 we get... someone... (I know it's on Patreon already but yeah). This episode on the other hand doesn't really have any iconic character or event to give it that extra boost. But honestly, it's just as great and maybe even better than 5, 6, or 8. Those three are still excellent episodes even without the more fan-servicey aspects, but Episode 7 is absolutely carried by a phenomenal mix of action, dialogue, tension, thought-provoking ideologies, etc. It's pretty amazing all around and in my opinion the most underrated Mandalorian episode. 15:50 Those are Seismic Charges. Jango Fett used them against Obi-Wan in Attack of The Clones (episode 2), when Obi-Wan followed Jango and kid Boba to Geonosis.

Great reaction to a fantastic episode. Bill Burr was incredible and deserves the accolades but Pedro Pascal is underrated here by so many and his acting is just as incredible but it's more subtle. The way he portrays Din's anxiety about showing his face simply in gestures and movement is beautiful and heartbreaking to watch. He's trying to hide in a room full of people and you can feel how awkward and uncomfortable he is. This is my 2nd fave episode of the season, right behind Ahsoka's episode which is my #1 of all. Can't wait for your reaction to the finale! 😁

@ItsAPrimate Operation Cinder was the codename for the Empires Orbital Bombardment Campaign. Basically it was executed right after the death of the emperor and the destruction of the second Death Star. It was basically a "scorched earth protocol" where the empire would destroy the world's that they controlled along with their own citizens.

Operation Cinder is something explored in Star Wars Battlefront 2 video game's story. Palpatine ordered it should he ever die, so it was put in motion after the events of Return of the Jedi.

The marauders have flying locks and grenades, but no blasters and they fight with sticks, the face scanner just lets you in if you have any face, Mayfield complains that Empire kills its troopers and then murders 100 of them himself...Mando warns Gideon about his arrival...

I really hope they bring back Mayfeld at some point. Bill Burr brings some much needed comedic levity to Star Wars. His character is serious while also being the funniest one in the room. He doesn't act too often but he always kills it when he does.

First off, how could you forget the sonic charge bombs?! His dad Jango Fett even used them on Obiwan back in episode 2 Attack of the Clones, remember! Second, love the name drops of Operation Cinder and Burnon Konn, if you played the game Battlefront 2 on story mode you would know the whole story behind those battles. Operation Cinder was the final command sent by Emperor Palpatine before Vader killed him to destroy all the planets under Empire rule... a kinda "if I can't have the galaxy no one can!" Love how these Disney shows put things from EVERYTHING Star Wars in them, including from video games, animated shows and even the comic books! Love these shows! Love your reaction! Keep them coming!
