I realy like this deck. Robin's got good taste! Some of the plant illustrations reminded me of the Voynich Manuscript. And the backs are beautiful. Hunger and Plague makes me think how much our ancestors came through to bring us here. We have a lot to thank them for. Hopefully we can leave a good legacy.

What a beautiful deck! If I ever deviate from the rws system, this deck will be a contender. Hope you are staying warm and cozy!!

Very interesting deck. Not sure it's for me, but I was happy to see the walkthrough. When I saw the Plague card the word that immediately came to mind was 'reset'. It could be a positive of course, but I'm not sure I'd be pleased to see it in a reading! 😅

I love medieval art, but wish there was left border and empty space on this deck and more close up of the imagery.

What a lovely gift. I really like the aesthetic of the deck. I agree that it would have been nice if they had given information about the manuscripts/where the images are from. Thanks for sharing!

Isn't it interesting how a deck can grow on you? As the first cards were shown i thought "not my taste at all"- after seeing your walkthrough Simon I fell in love- never thought i would like it. But there are three new decks on the way to me- have to enjoy them first. By the way- I saw all of them on the Hermits cave 😀🤗 (the Heaven and Earth Tarot, the Shadowland Tarot and the In Between Tarot) love love your walk throughs; i can learn so much from them. Thanks Simon for your help on my spiritual journey 🙏🕯♾️❤️

Simon, I thank you so much for sharing your insights, in particular, with regards to the Hunger & Plague cards. I initially left them out of my readings, but decided they needed to find a place within the deck as the deck creator intended. I might still struggle with interpretation a bit. Glad you enjoyed all the hares. I feel like this deck is in there with Serpent & Peacock and that Paul's Deck, though not up there in quality perhaps. I do love bizarre medieval imagery and have always been fascinated with the anthropomorphic mashups of Hieronymus Bosch. The deck has a mystique about it that I feel most decks with early tarot imagery feel to have. I would love if youu were able to come back to this after using it a bit to explain how you make use of it in readings. As much as I love it, I'm afraid many of the images are challenging intuitively where they don't obvious point to RWS. I tend to read this on the surface level by defaulting in my head to my memorized images of classic RWS, but then add whatever visual hits I might get from these whimsical marginal designs. Sometimes they lead me in new directions and sometimes they leave me struggling to find meaning. But I don't think historical tarot was meant to be spoonfed to us as it was supposed to be 'secret knowledge'. We have to work for answers a bit. Perhaps because the answers aren't immediately forthcoming, I value this deck more as it forces me to take my time with it and go within. Like interpreting one's own dreams.

That’s a good overview. To be honest, that’s how I read most decks. I always go with the underpinning knowledge that I’ve received and then whatever intuitive hits I get from the images are laid on top. Sometimes they are there, sometimes they’re not. Thanks again for this kind gift.

I too would love for you to revisit this deck after you've used it for a while. My first reaction was negative, but it is growing on me. Very curious as to how it reads.

Such an interesting deck. It now has a place on my wish list. I really like the various illustrations on each card...lends to different "colors" in the interpretation, given the question. Thank you for sharing❤😊
