There are theories, based on his doctor's notes, that his doctor was trying to end the war by feeding Hitler pills that screwed with his head, his digestive system, even his muscle control. (Hitler had psychotic episodes, terrible gas, and visible tremors and loss of muscle control late in the war) Most of his top generals, advisors, and assistants didn't like the doctor, and wrote about how they questioned some of the drugs he was administering, as well as the fact that Hitler could tell him a certain drug wasn't helping or was making matters worse, and the doctor's response was to increase the dosage, or prescribe a drug that was known to interact with the drug in question.

6:15 Mutafluor is actually a legitimate probiotic and is still available today. It contains E. coli Nissle, which, yes, was originally isolated from human feces; however, it's produced using normal bacterial growth media. We now know that diversity of gut bacteria is more important than any particular strain, but Mutafluor is still helpful. In a lab I used to work in, we used Nissle as a model for a more natural strain of E. coli as opposed to the highly engineered strains we normally use. We literally just bought some Mutafluor, broke open the capsule, and streaked it out on a plate.

It was The Boys from Brazil with Gregory Peck (if I remember correctly) starring in the role of real life Dr Josef Mengele, the ‘Angel of Death’ of Auschwitz.
