To be fair, Ash does represent a lot of kids when they were 10 year olds, where they didn't think about strategies and all that good stuff, since kids don't really focus on having buff moves and stuff, as they just care about stab moves. The one to blame here is really Brock as he was the veteran trainer, but he never guided Ash properly.

That's not Ash's fault though. Every Gym battle in Kanto is interrupted by Team Rocket shenanigans. In the end, Ash ends up helping the Gym Leaders out and they give Ash their badge in return. Instead of, you know, following proper protocol and telling him to return the next day with a fully healed team or a battle?

They're the Pokémon League officials, it's their job to follow proper protocol. But this was only limited to Kanto. Ash did earn all his Johto badges.

You're wrong about Charizard. Ash couldn't "talk things out." He pleaded with Charizard several times. Zard just didn't care. It gained respect for him because not listening to Ash nearly got Charizard killed against a Poliwrath, and Ash stayed by Zard's side to rehabilitate him. If I recall correctly, Primeape also didn't like Ash when he was caught. It gained love for him after Ash through himself underneath Primeape to stop him from getting hurt more after he was knocked out the ring(something like that)

I always thought it would be a good idea for the Pokemon Snorlax to get either a regional variant or a evolution now if it got a Evolution I thought it would be fun if its name was punchlax because I got inspiration from Po the panda from Kung Fu Panda on this one and I know that sumo wrestlers are not allowed to punch or kick each other during their matches but I thought since Snorlax weighs about 600 to around 1,000 lb we could make an exception (and he clearly does take inspiration partially from a sumo wrestler and or a Japanese/Chinese fighter) so by that logic I thought it would be a good idea to make his Evolution a ground and fighting type because both sumo wrestlers and pot the Panda have a hard time getting off of the ground also if you remember in the second movie how the panda stated that he does not like doing the stairs. and as for his Regional form I thought it would be a good idea to make him either a grass and normal type or grass fighting type because as I do remember originally Ash Ketchum found Snorlax in the forest

I think them being so valid is exactly why they were on fraud watch…Ash should’ve trained and battled w them before using them in championship matches. He didn’t, pulled up w like a tiny weak krabby he caught in the beginning of his journey-never once battled or trained w it, then the very first time he decides to use it is in a league match w a type disadvantage against a fully evolved opponent and that wild Krabby somehow evolves/wins. Ash winning w mons like bulbasaur and squirtle is feasible bc he actually trains/battles w them. Krabby/Kingler’s W was a cool scene (bc it’s always dope to see Ash switch up his Pokémon) but straight plot armor.

Same thing with Charmander evolving the quickest to Charizard because he roasted that horde of Exeggutors. Its funny how much the anime sometimes disregards the game rules, and how closely it follows them at other times.

But I gotta disagree, even w game logic, Krabby should’ve been one-shotted and shouldn’t be able to knockout a Pokémon THAT much stronger than itself. It’s like a lv 12 crabby vs a lv 40 exeggutor. Getting a ghost from Lavander Town for a Sabrina is actually a TERRIBLE idea. 1. In the original games, which is what this part of the show is based on, psychic types are immune to ghost attacks, not weak to them. 2. Even if they were super effective, the only ghost attacks in Red & Blue are Lick and Night Shade. Night Shade deals static damage, and Lick is even weaker than Tackle (minus the potential paralysis, but at that point just use Thunder Wave). 3. The only ghost types in Red & Blue are the Gastly-Haunter-Gengar line, which are all also poison types, making them... weak to psychic attacks. *facepalm*

The thing with the league is that Team Rocket basically crippled Ash's team. Pidgeotto was exhausted, Bulbasaur was a bad matchup to Charmander, and both Squirtle and Pikachu had been knocked out. With Butterfree released, and that slot being vacant until the Orange Islands, that left Charizard. Charizard was literally Ash's last hope. So that situation wasn't Ash's fault, to be frank.

I’d argue Ash sleeping late was predetermined. And it all plays into Time Travel and paradoxes. To us, ya he slept in late and Oak just happened to have a Pikachu laying around. But in Celebi Voice of the Forest, we learn Oak was the little boy that Celebi brought to the future. Therefore the reason Oak sent 4 kids out instead of 3 is because Ash was always meant to have Pikachu. He just had to make sure Ash got it in a way that was convenient since Ash wanted Squirtle in the beginning

Yeah, I would say that for the first gym Ash definitely should’ve mainly focuses on Butterfree and Pidgeotto more for it. Maybe Butterfree even learn confusion or Psychic to help him out. I think Ash's encounter with Brock is overly hated. Was it some complete anime BS? Yes. But Ash admitted himself that it was, and that he wanted to beat Brock later fair and square. However Brock (well deservedly) saw Ash' great qualities, and decided to give the badge anyways. Kanto Gym leaders in the anime seem to look for other things than just battling. Not gonna defend the complete BS with the Saffron and Viridian gyms though, they're unexcuseable.

To be fair, Giovanni being the 8th Gym Leader in Kanto is meant to be a twist. A half hearted twist, but one none the less. So the idea that the police don't suspect Giovanni himself to be affiliated with Team Rocket isn't too farfetched. We don't see Giovanni outside of his position as the Boss so its hard to say what he does when in public, if anything and that's the anime's fault.

I can explain why Giovanni could freely be a Viridian Gym leader. Giovanni was the Pokemon equivalent of a Yakuza boss. In Japan the Yakuza can somewhat freely operate, because they're notoriously difficult to take down because of generations long influence, huge amounts of bribe money and also having no hesitations in being violent. Also the police would rather that crime is restricted to just the Yakuza.

If he had taken his role as a trainer very seriously, then Charizard would not have been a very disobedient Pokémon in the first place. Ashs only mistake was that we was written by idiots. The Manga is straight shooting while the anime is bordering on nonsense even though i love both dearly.

Doesn’t ash travel to the past in the one movie and meet a young professor oak and save his and his Pokémon life so prof oak had to make sure ash got his pikachu in the future so that the timeline would be right

Not to be that guy but Sabrina isn’t the only one to use psychic abilities…😅if you play the games, the older ones especially,there is a whole class of psychic trainers who use powers to make poke balls levitate 😂 it is explained how psychic Pokémon and trainers connect tho too in the show so she def belongs in the universe 😅
