It's funny you say that. When Corey is on his motorcycle and then the camera pans to show Allison with him, my wife and I both assumed it would be Michael Myers. Before we saw Allison we started cracking up because we thought we knew where it was going. It's kind of sad that we both assumed something that silly could happen in this movie. But then again, we found the whole movie hilarious.

Pretty much the point of the movie. Michael didn’t need to be in the whole movie. He already won. Evil changed shape in the form of the town’s hysteria. They all lashed at each other. Then inevitably directed it at Corey over an accident that wasn’t his fault. Laurie and the town’s hysteria to destroy evil ultimately created it in Corey.

Michael & Laurie’s conclusion seemed like such an afterthought. They didn’t even have Laurie react with a facial expression when she realized someone else was in the house after Allyson left. And I can’t believe how underused both Frank and Lindsey were, especially her since she’s the original actress and character from 1978. I was so hoping for a huge, massive, long chase & fight scene with Michael vs. Laurie, Lindsey and Allyson at the end throughout the whole house and the abandoned house next door with all three women surviving. I think it would have been a very powerful ending for the three of them considering how Michael impacted each of their lives. So much missed potential.

My favorite part about the movie "Michael and Me" is when Michael was observing Corey hanging out at Laurie Strode's house briefly after Michael first met Corey. The special gem about this scene is that there is no plausible way Michael would have caught up to Corey, unless he rode on the back of his motorcycle with his arms around Corey's waist; truly showing the deep bond that their friendship started out with.

@@TheCryptofHorrors-DerCryptaxis I knew this would eventually pop up. Yes, horror requires the suspension of belief to where you can just enjoy the ride, but here is where it's different. This entire movie was about him grounded in reality, not being a supernatural being that he was always believed to be. Sure he took an entire town to the face. But we all know his strength and damage resistance stats are maxed out. He withstood it by being tough. Yeah people outrun him all the time, but eventually he catches up. This is Michael, not Jason. He doesn't randomly appear around the corner. This deep dive analysis about a movie has confirmed that him riding on a bike has now become cannon

Thats why i actually think H2O is the only decent sequel, even though it gets a lot of shit. It makes perfect sense that a girl as smart as Laurie would end up qualifying as a headmistress, but it also makes perfect sense that she would move away as far as possible to another location, and hide her identity, and have a drink and recurring nightmare issue. The real problem with that movie to me is the main plot that essentially makes it just another scream like teen slasher no different than the ones that dominated the late 90s. If they had just made that a subplot and focused more on Laurie, it would have been better

Thank gaawwddd this was available for streaming because I was able to pause the movie to catch my breath after laughing so hard. The scene where Michael Myers gets his first kill in the film and he starts powering up or something... I can't tell how hard that made me laugh. Laurie's granddaughter giving up the cheeks to the town weirdo after 2 days of (I guess dating?) was hilarious within itself. I'm curious to see where the franchise ends up next and I'm hoping Freddy Krueger is next up because that franchise is in dire need of a reboot.

I honestly can’t even ponder how the writers thought it would be a good idea to sideline Michael in the finale of his own reboot trilogy. Especially in favor of a character that was only just introduced. I liked the idea of Corey’s character, but they definitely should’ve introduced him sooner and built him up more before granting him such a heavy focus.

Finally someone who agrees it's weird for laurie to live like she did only coz of an incident one night 40 years ago. It would have made more sense if they included part 2 as well. That way Laurie would have been Michaels sister and she would have witnessed way more carnage so she would have way more reason to live like she did the past 40 years. Also, Why isnt anyone talking about the fact Corey's hand wound and Michael himself heals with every kill? His girlfriend even looks kinda shocked at the wound, when they're on the radio station roof. I feel like Michael needed Corey to kill in his name so he could get stronger with each kill and eventually get out of the sewers to finish killing Laurie. Clearly corey will be the next shape since he got the "resurrection possible" ending like michael used to get. Also he conveniently stabs himself in the neck so his vocal cords are destroyes and he will be a silent killer like michael. Also a way to put any actor in the mask in the future. BTW Corey has the new mask already picked out. So IMO it is an End for Michael but not for the franchise.

That's "after the fact" talk though. If they had chosen another mask in the original '78 movie, we'd all think it was iconic too. We can easily sit here with our 2022 foresight and think, "Damn, that mask is such a huge part of Michael Myers and the Halloween series", because it's had 40+ years to settle and be established in our minds. I do agree that Michael's mask is awesome and a HUGE part of what makes Halloween iconic, but there's plenty of other pieces that make Halloween what it is today.

@@Neckromorph Respectully disagree. As well made as the 1st movie is there's not a whole lot there. It's a very simple plot. I think the haunting perfect image of the killer is what makes the movie pop and makes it so eternally intriguing. They almost went with a hobo clown mask. In an alternate universe where that happened I don't think Spirit Halloween would have a wall of hobo clowns. Its not as sleek, sexy & scary. There might not even be a Spirit since Halloween '78 sparked a whole snowballing subgenre in its wake.

I really think everyone is wrong on this one. Halloween has been derivative and cliched for ages. They really tired something interesting, and different, and I loved it. The themes and symbolism in this film was fantastic. The exploration of internal v external evil, it’s source through nature v nurture. Was it a perfect film? No not at all; the film was super messy - but it’s far from bad. The thing I really find disappointing, is any time someone takes risk in the horror genre it gets shit on. You only have to look at Carpenters career. His films (outside Halloween) were a flop - yet now he’s considered a master of his craft. The problem is; studios pay attention, and when they see everyone pile on something to a risk - they take note, and next time won’t take that risk. That’s why after Halloween three we got an endless barrage of absolute garbage.
