We will be moving to Montana in the spring looking for aforable land right now... We bought bare land out here in rural Oregon several years ago and built a pretty nice homestead and unfortunately the county has put my family on there payroll going full tyrannical on us we are almost ten grand in dept in just fines just for living on our land we are surrounded by nothing but illegal grows and meth labs witch the code enforcement officer won't go near the county are cowards and only go after good people with families... I'm really hoping rural Montana is a place where we can just be left alone.. Lots of blood sweat and tears went into building out our land and it looks like we're about the same age and I'm sure you could understand how much bullshit it's going to be to start all over again.. Any ideas on areas to look would be much appreciated trying to raise our son old-school America... And we are completely off grid solar during the day small generator at night over a mile into the mountains composting toilet etc... Been living this way for a long time just want to be left alone by the government...

Oh believe me I completely understand the tirany of the west coast. We almost purchased in Oregon until we discovered we could not collect rain water. If you like freedom, you will love Montana. Email me, and I'll give you the number of a real estate guy that every one uses up here

@@jackhawk8952 there is an e-mail address in the description of the channel ...I'm not a US citizen , but I heard that things (laws , rules and regulations and government) got bad in the West coast . Though , I hear that many states have similar problems. Rural Montana and Idaho seem like good choices for moving within USA , so far and , maybe , North Carolina (again , it's what I hear , but it is all very subjective , coming from different people). Many of them strongly suggested , to check the local laws and regulations and compare those with state laws and federal laws , because many people had been caught off guard , because they got wrong information online and some were (unintentionally) misinformed by local authorities. I have some friends all over (first and second generation of legal immigrants) and they are pretty well of , or well established , at least , but , some of them are moving to the old country !? They stated reasons like security , personal freedoms (more and more limitations) and insane rise in cost of living. We get many people , original Americans that have moved here (and many people of other nationalities) , which is strange , because this is a very small country , that almost anyone never heard of in US. It is a funny old world now.

5:54 The problem with those cheap inverters is they are inefficient. The sweet spot is probably decent, but the typical is not. They are also poorly made and will break exactly when it is needed the most and when your life depends on it working.

I do not necessarily recommend them.

You could make back-emf charger and get your batteries back to former state. The shaking generator needs more mass, screw it onto concrete.

Yes a battery pulser to get the sulphides off the plates, I almost forgot about those. I do wonder if the greater mass would destroy the generator due to.....well I mean I might just have to try it.

I'm in Western Montana . Off Grid is a challenge for sure. F or many that just move here, just living in rural Montana it is hard. I run hard spring to fall working, painting, staining, chinking log homes. Then look forward to down time of the winter. By spring I am ready to get back to normal work. Been here in western Montana 28 years. Seen many people come and go. The one thing that I would say many people underestimate when moving to Montana is winter, and the lack of sun. Even compared to many cold areas the lack of sunshine here in winter gets to people. That's people living on the grid! Off grid is a whole story in itself, as you show in your videos. Also Montana culture don't fit many from the outside. Montana has a more rugged individualist community. It is hard for people from other areas to adapt to that sometimes. Like me, I am not always wanting to run to and fro with people doing entertainment stuff. That sometimes puts people off that are new to Montana. They want to go to movies, concerts, brewery etc. 3 times a week. Because that's what they did where they came from. Many in my circle are more like, lets hang out and get stuff done like work on a vehicle, cut wood, build something, can some garden stuff while we hang out etc. Not that we don't go do stuff ever. But it is more like once every month.lol maybe..lol. To me going out for fun is driving out in the mountains or hiking, camping, hunting. I have been known to hit the big city missoula for a Montana football game on occasion. lol That is considered a Big day out around here. lol Enjoy your videos, keep them coming.

Ha ! You're going native (bow and arrows...) . Where I live there is more of community sense (though , very few places that get cold like Montana in the winter) so winters aren't a problem , in terms of cabin fever - people visit each other and do stuff together , from small villages , to big cities (besides visits to bars - which are quite different , generally and culturally , than in US). I've said long time ago , LiFePO4 batteries are great for your situation (even though those had to be charged above 35-40° F , in order to get full life out of them). Those have much smaller internal resistance than lead acid , so it would be more efficient to charge. You can buy ready made ones , or you can DIY them , from cells (significantly cheaper , but that depends on shipping costs). Very safe battery chemistry and you get more bang for your buck (in terms of usable capacity ,w/o danger of internal cell damage). I wonder about quality of your soil , in the green house , I mean. It looks like it has a lot of clay in it. Maybe you should test it , and improve it with mulch and manure (cheaper than buying ready made compost). During the spring/summer , of course - you don't want that fragrance to get into your house. I was thinking of your heating solutions and it just crossed my mind , that you can supplement it with those cheap Chinese diesel heaters (Webasto clones) which are spending only up to 5 OZ of diesel per hour for 8KW unit (27 300 BTU/H). Those can run on different fuels also (not petrol) , like vegetable oil , gas for lamps (petroleum , or parafin oil ) , filtered used engine oil (well , partially) . Those cost around $ 200-250. I'm glad that you've decided to do something on this channel. I watched a couple of videos on the other one , but it has many points in those videos , on which I would want to comment , which is impossible , because it would be more of essay , than a comment . So I left it alone. Besides , our scripture may differ , because of the language (some things get lost in translation). I hope that you'll be more active on this channel. All the best !

So I've heard good things about the diesel heaters. A friend of mine actually purchased one so maybe we can have a review here on the channel soon. They sound really attractive. Too bad diesel is so expensive. But the btu per gallon is way better than propane. I hope to do more on this channel, just a matter of getting in the groove. Thank you my friend for your continued support.

for about 16-1800 $ you could build a battery at 24v 560ah made of 2 seperate 280A 8 s batteries 14kwh in all ,with EVE 280A lifepo4 cells (good ones) 2x 8s daly 100A bms 2x active balancers 4x treaded rod and a bit of wood or aluminium ,its simple , i have a setup like that and are offgrid in Denmark

@veggitarianredneck I have 5 total but not sure I want to get rid of all of them yet, I run 48 volts but also have the stuff to put a 12 volt system together if anything goes wrong with the 48 volt, the bioenno still have never been put in service, just keep them around 50% SOC
