To add onto the cool interesting stuff Raiden could do in UC2, When you locked into an opponent and used teleport it would try to place you directly behind where the opponent was facing, so if you had a friend you would easily escape out of bounds on most maps, since you just needed a thin/invisible wall and you buddy to face inwards toward the level, you lock on and teleport, and voila, you were outside the map. Some of the maps themselves had full ground mapping so there was insane stuff to explore. All thanks to Raiden.

You’d think that instead of Scorpion, they would of put Ermac in Psy-Ops since the telekinesis aspect would of fit him more in than Scorpion and it would of been a neat way to promote MK Deception since Ermac made his return in that game.

There's also a Pyrokinesis power that allows you to throw fire, which is pretty apt for Scorpion.

My local arcade had the NBA JAM TE, MK version back in the day. I remember reading about the codes in an issue of EGM and calling the arcade specifically if that was the version they had, he said he didn’t know and to come down to see. Well I got there and there was a line out the door. He would end up having that same board for years until the arcade shutdown at the turn of the millennium. I always wondered what lucky soul got that coveted board.

Here's another example of two games, while no actual MK characters were in them, a ton of clear MK inspired elements were in them. These were WWE WrestleMania the Arcade game and WWE In Your House, two games that were hybrids of wrestling games and fighting games. The first one was developed by Midway themselves while the other one was by Acclaim (which developed multiple ports for the classic MK games), they both used the digitized graphics that MK was known for, and they both even had Fatalities, the first one only for The Undertaker and the 2nd one for the entire roster. These are some of my all-time favorite games, there were both incredible.

0:53 I mean...it still is, Mortal Kombat still gets movies, TV shows and cameos in different games, but the big difference between 90s - 2000s MK and modern MK is that 90s - 2000s MK was self made, it was a smaller project, by a smaller team from a smaller company with a smaller budget that made a MUCH bigger impact on the industry as a whole compared to modern day MK, which is backed by one of the biggest companies in the world and is only successful imo thanks to the brilliant marketing they have now, instead of the substance that the series used to have in the Midway days.

Shaq Fu didn't have an NBA license. Shaq opted out of the shared licensing agreement after his rookie season and arranged his own separate licensing deals. If you look at Shaq Fu there's no actual NBA elements in it at all-for example Shaq doesn't wear an Orlando jersey, just a generic one with the word "SHAQ" on the front. The original deal for NBA Jam was made before Shaq opted out, so he was in the first version of the arcade game, but not in any of the later versions (except for that Arcade1Up "Shaq Edition" and some prototypes of the TE console ports). Jordan did the same thing earlier and Charles Barkley did it later, which is why he was also removed from later revisions of the game.

The one I "toadally" knew was NBA Jam Tournament Edition in the arcades, I was lucky to play on those before Midway decided to patch all the boards, but the operator somehow managed to convince the Midway personal to keep a few machines without the update to keep playing as Sub-Zero, Reptile, Scorpion or Raiden, the other ones I had no idea... except for maybe NFL Blitz, so this is very interesting.
