My first boyfriend, who was obsessed with the Mario Bros., broke up with me very similarly, but his reasoning was that he was "bored of the relationship." He used to, unironically, flatter himself in the same manner the song does. 💀 It's so in character for how he was when we were a couple that I can't help but laugh about it. Such a good song.

I love this song SO MUCH and I can’t explain the joy I felt when I connected “the Mario cliché” to the “it’s-a me, Mario!” I’m really glad you guys put out these explainations but also glad that you waited a bit for us to digest the songs and discover the meanings for ourselves first!!

I genuinely can’t decide which song on this album I love most. Bark Skimpson inspired me to write my next DnD villain (A Necromancer who raised an army of undead Druids, only to be cursed and turned into a petrified tree by those he unearthed), Heavy News is just such an apocalyptic bop, and I’ve had BTBBRBBQ as my wake up alarm since it was dropped as a single. This one, though, this one is the one I never fail to sing along with in the car. I’ve almost got the rap down despite being whiter than, well, a ghost! Love all the work you guys do. Keep inspiring me to make more dnd stuff please. ; P

I've been absolutely obsessed with this song since it came out, and it's gotten to the top of my spotify listening tracks just as Bob Loblaw did when i first listened to it. Just so addicting. Especially the final god damn line "You're not listening! It's LITERALLY MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" JUST AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Curious, who drew the cover for the jiminy album? It's so gorgeous and I love looking at it.

Dor some reason, the ending of "its literally me' made me think he was cheating on her with a clone of himself. Like it sounds like normal narcissism, but then right at the end its revealed that it was about another him. I dont know why either
