It seems unlikely it's actual censorship, given the other stuff that's included. My guess is: a) it's a joke, and/or b) because, this is a rather low-budget series, the screwdriver they had didn't do the ink trick. In any case, I think this is probably my favourite Mark Steel Lectures show. I love its irreverence and visual gags, and it allowed them to do jokes that weren't possible in the radio series.
