There were probably only 20 people in the bar watching the show that nite. Hes a humble down to earth guy. Was a great time and he has been a real inspiration to my guitar playing and style. Why do you think he is underrated? The guy was the cover of guitar magazines multiple times, awarded the best guitarist multiple times, probably is the guitarist with the most number of co-developed/signature equipment in the whole industry… I can’t understand why you think he is underrated and underappreciated???
@donnamignemiАй бұрын
He is not underrated amongst guitarist perhaps. But if you walk down the street and interview 100 random people, you might be lucky to find a few who have heard of him. But mention somebody like Slash, and most will know who he is. Mark flies under the radar and I think a lot of it is because he is so humble and not the "look at me" type.
@penadugasАй бұрын
@@donnamignemican anyone these days name any guitar player that is recognized by the community post 1995? Slash is from the era of rock was mainstream and guitar heroes existed. So, I don’t think it is a Mark thing… it is just a fact that rock is no longer mainstream and no one knows any guitar player these days anymore.
@blaness13Ай бұрын
@@penadugas I see what your saying, and sure, more guitar oriented people are going to know who he is, but realistically, the only project he has that is a household name is creed, and at that people most likely won't know the guitarist name, Most people don't know who alter bridge is or he solo project(s) either, a lot of his stuff flies under the radar unless you really have your finger on the pulse of rock and metal stuff, again guitar players are going to know more than likely than not, but for someone that is so skilled in songwriting, guitar playing, finding great melodies and killer riffs, and just having an ear for what makes great rock and metal music, I'd say he's definitely underrated as a musician, but less so in guitar circles,

@frankwestphal853220 күн бұрын
Tremonti is, IMO, an under rated serious metal guitarist. Dude is not messing around when he plays. There's only a certain percentage of people who will understand that kind of intensity. Personally, I effing love it, and wish I had followed more of his work over the years. When you start doing Randy Rhoads and Zakk Wylde type stuff in milliseconds between chords, you're crushing it. It's like time slows down, and you become of a master of it in those moments. Laying down a couple a chords is nothing. Writing a good song is much better. Doing both, and then throwing some wah, trem, solos licks, solos, harmonics, and whatever else is, getting close to mastery on the electric. The best playing I ever did was alone at 3 am in my studio in San Diego. Wah, trem, custom pre-amp tubes (use an AT-7 in your first gain stage, and maybe even second gain stage and it cleans the sh!t out of your tone but you still get the gain out of the AX-7s) that I mic checked like 50 times and recorded them all to figure out the best combination in my 6505 plus. And I'm not even joking.... the best delay I've ever gotten (maybe even ever heard) running my 6505 plus effects loop through a BOSS BR-8, with 2 GT-75s, and and 2 Vintage 30s in my 4x12, and EMGs 81 and 85 in a Dean ML Standard. The only way I think it could have gotten better, was if was playing a Les Paul studio, but same everything else. The only thing missing was a little bit more sustain. Oh... and cut the highs on your lead channel. The wah will make up for it. I made that mistake for SO long, and had to re amp a bunch of solos to buffer those harsh 2-4k frequencies. It's amazing how much more stoked you are when everything you do, sounds like it's right off your favorite album. And one last thing... one of the best tones I've gotten was full gain on that setup, but just rolling back the volume on those EMGs, with that exact setup. It's like "See you on the other side" verse tone. Just watery, and dynamic, but pronounced and balanced. Absolutely beautiful. The AT-7s make a HUGE difference in dynamic response and clarity. You'll never get it out AX-7s in your first gain stage.
