Blackbird was the album of 2007 for me, I literally just had my first real breakup that spring, then literally 3 weeks before the album dropped i was moved from my small town in indiana to a much larger town in North Alabama, I literally knew none of the kids at this new school and all my friends were in Indiana, Literally listened to this Album the full two years i lived there, Until i came back to Indiana in 2009. The songs hit me hard and got me through alot, Will never forget that, Still listen to it to this day, One of the Greatest Rock albums of my generation for sure

The Blackbird album made me fall in love with them:) I love how Alter Bridge has "positive" song content (limited swear words and such) and can still crush it and keep the heavy rock feel. And Myles Kennedy's voice. It doesn't get better. Thanks for being so great! You guys are everything that I love about rock:)

As much as I love AB3 but I have to agree. Blackbird is a masterpiece. But it's hard compare their albums, they're so different stylistically.
@johnnydwadd57305 жыл бұрын
Myles.... By far is the most underrated singer in the music industry today. If you think about how Alter Bridge writes and how Slash writes, he brings it with surgical execution to both projects..... Cheers !!!!!!!!
@davidlrogers11 жыл бұрын
I disagree that AB3 doesn't hold a candle to Blackbird. They're very different. That being said, it's a REALLY good problem when a band's fans fight over which album was the best and any fan looks at any of their album as a "once in a lifetime record" With that in mind, AB is tremendously underrated.
@MetalMayhem19784 жыл бұрын
Dave Rogers I like AB3 Better
@Project_25013 жыл бұрын
Blackbird and One Day Remains were musical master pieces! The Alter Bridge formula was sorta still an experiment and a natural evolution up until ABIII. ABIII incorporated 2 new elements that hasn't been there in this form before and to which the band shouldn't have stuck: 1. They incorporated that Ghost Of Days Gone By intro guitar sound, that from there on is present in basically every other AB song. (and I hate it) 2. They took the initial AB lyrics formula of being as relatable but vage as possible and took it to a over-exaggerated cliche level, which just makes it cheesy and dull. It's kinda like Breaking Benjamin changing their style after "So Cold" was dropped and became a huge success - they produced two whole stunning albums as an evolution of that sound (Phobia and Dear Agony) and then fell into the same ever repeating pattern, riding that formula to death and becoming a cliche and almost a parody of their own. The fist two AB records will always be in my heart as two of my most favorite albums of all time, which I come back to every couple of months, but I honestly haven't dug out ABIII in 10 years after listening to it for a while right after it dropped. I checked out all the following albums to look how or rather IF the band evolved but AB by now is just a shadow of it's former glory. It's a shame.

@@Project_2501 i personally bileve Fortress was a masterpiece....Last hero felt kinda rushed and Walking in the sky was an expirement which actually was very good...AB 3 to me was fuckin awesome ....A major part of the audience were not a huge fan of it because of its really dark lyrics but as someone who is going thru and could relate to what Myles was Tryna say ...it felt so beautiful.....I don't think AB has gone anywhere ....Their fame is respect

You can actually tell they took their time and have dedication to what they do, where as guys like Wiz Khalifa just chew out the same shit everytime and everything seems like it doesn't come together well. Thats what I love about musicians that use real instruments like rock and country, they don't stop until it sounds just right. Pop lovers and rappers call rockers like Alter Bridge emo and untalented, but at least they take their time to make something different
