Not, always. Many times, it's big boys looking for liquidity. I would not be surprised that the market continues down.

i am not based in US, so when i saw that huge red candle, something is clearly wrong, i cut most of my positions and bought some shorts expect follow through towards the downside towards daily range bottom. then i woke up next day, see that right after i sold, the market reversed. very frustrated, because the stocks i hold are still looking fine on the daily, but i thought the market would drag them down so at least i should sell and buy back later expect a pull back of the general market... but this is life of a trader, if i had no internet connection, i wouldn't have known and no changes i would have made for my portfolio. yes, i expect the market to go upward, which is my orginial expectation based on the chart. i thought the data would be the catalyst to allow the market go high, i dont care what that data is and what is the result. but the market really make sure to shake most people out before continue. lets see what happen, if it does continue moving up, i need to get back into my positions. my major position is still the chinese stocks, they look so good in terms of not only technical, but also fundamental. they are so damn cheap relative to the US stocks. things like BABA is great.
