I've watched several live videos of the band playing this song- a couple with Pridgen, and a couple with Theodore...I keep thinking one of them is outdoing the other, only to have the other surprise me. At this point, I'm convinced that Theodore is the secret love child of Billy Cobham and Dave Weckl, while Pridgen is some unholy union of motorcyle engine and man. Both living legends; this must be how my parents' generation felt at Woodstock, watching legacies unfold before their eyes.

I can't believe anyone would criticize Pridgen for this performance... would you rather watch them play the song live note for note, or watch some crazy talented musicians put their heart and soul in it?

I've seen Mars Volta live 4 times here in Texas and Dillinger EP once when they toured with Deftones. Awesome shows indeed.

It is so awesome and encouraging to real musicians, who studied their art, to see a live audience totally getting into great music created by real organic musicians. No EDM BS or Hip Hop sampling, and or fake POP star lip syncing. Just real humans making real music. Thank you Mars Volta for bringing the art of live music back to masses. You inspire us all!

Thomas Pridgen is the F**kn man no doubt: he’s a charismatic dude to watch - fun style, speed & precision, Bedlam was a fantastic record + achievement as his freshman debut with Volta…BUT, Jon Theodore was the man that wrote the initial insane drum arrangements which got people to notice this band. I remember this album, Deloused, released my high school graduating year & as a drummer heavily influenced by improv / prog arrangement recordings of the late 60s, 70’s, 80’s & 90’s - this song was one that stood out to me & made me realize how far behind the game I was in terms of talent + comfortably in a recording studio.

Well technically Theodore didn’t write the initial drum parts in Deloused.Original drummer Blake Fleming was the one to write them.Though Theodore did make them his own.

Saw them in Austin TX..I've never been the same. My inspiration and passion jizzed out like a canon. I have a picture somewhere of the black stage floor after Cedric swayed and danced w his new chucks. White half moon circles and skids everywhere. PURE BEAUTY!
