The Council of Elrond joke was hilarious becasue Mitch Henderson (Sean Bean's character) was present at the The Council of Elrond .Anybody remembers Boromir?
@ihavemydignity9 жыл бұрын
Did you guys actually hear what Matt Damon said to Effie in that clip you shown at the start? Cause Matt was totally right there. Matt basically said skills and ability should be the reason someone is chosen for a project and race has nothing to do with it and should be irrelevant. Effie of course disagreed because shes illogical. Diversity is great but should not be a priority in the hiring process for anything.

+Nineteen1900Hundred They have a couple podcasts on their site, i cant recall which particular one in which they talked about the matt damon thing. However, if you go on their site and read the description for each podcast over the past 2-3 weeks, it will say matt damon is one of the things they talked about for that particular episode.

This must be the safest version of space Ridley Scott has shown in a movie, and yet space is still scary as fuck.

The book, written by Andy Weir, was the one of the main reason that the movie was a success. The source material was the thing that stands out. So Congrats to the author as well as the director and the screenwriter.

Glad to see there's someone who agrees with me about this movie. I did not get what the hype was about. None of the characters were engaging, the story stopped being interesting at about the hour mark, and Damon's jokes got old real quick. I never got that there was really a sense of danger for the character which I should have.

I don't get people constantly saying this movie is scientific. It's really not. He invokes science, sure, but it may as well be Dumbledore invoking magic. There's no part of the film where he's explaining how to do complex mathematics or anything. There is nothing that would bore a person. The movie just throws around the word "science" a lot. That's different than being a movie ABOUT science.
@pranasvaicaitis429 жыл бұрын
Well, since I haven't read a book I can't compare. But if this film was on it's own, I'm with Martin. There was a bit too many jokes or light attitude created. For example in the end of the movie, then he was rebuilding that space shuttle he supposed to leave Mars. Come one, we are talking about rebuilding machine which may kill main character, changes itself may couse death (making shuttle's roof from a tempt). And what do we hear during this rebuilding? Cheerfull ABBA song. While in beard shaving scene serious atmosphere is created - yeah, don't cut that skin. And I hated scene then nerdy guy showed his option how to save Damon's character. Maybe I wouldn't care about it that much, maybe I would like it, but the movie had a lot of comedy elements already. And I also agree that tension of this rescue operation ended too soon. All in all high matinee. Or 8 out of 10.

I still can't believe this movie is considered a comedy. I guess, like Martin said, they didn't put enough danger or peril in the movie. But trust me, read the book, you get all of this. Every funny line in the movie is in the book, there is even more in the book. And the peril... At some points you actually don't think he'll make it. Personnaly i liked the movie, but it didnt par with the book.It was much better than the revenant though. ( too long)
