To all KZbinrs: I make this statement on November 29, 2017. As of today, the record for most Emmy wins for Outstanding Comedy Series is 5, held by Frasier and Modern Family. The record for most Emmy wins by a performer for the same role in the same series is 6, held by Julia-Louis Dreyfus for Veep. Just watched the first three episodes of this. It's absolutely brilliant. The time period is historically re-created, every character is memorable and nuanced (with a few designed to be deliciously unlikable). The protagonist is well written, witty, and acts her tail off! For anyone who even remotely enjoys the 1950's anesthetic and wonderfully written characters who are portrayed by great actors, watch this now, binge it if you have to.

When comedy is written well and you pick and actress who gets it, the laughs are literally fucking effortless. And this show makes it all look easy. The actress is absolutely stellar, the comedy is so well written and fast paced that you might need to pause at times to take a breath. So good. SOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOD.

Been running since 2017. Won a Golden Globe for best TV series comedy/musical in 2017, an Emmy for outstanding comedy series in 2018, the creator won Emmy awards for outstanding directing and outstsnding writing in 2018, Rachel Broshanan won a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a comedy series in 2018 and 2 consecutive Golden Globes for Best Actress TV series Musical or Comedy (2018 & 2019), one of the other actresses won Primetime Emmys in 2018 and 2019 for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series and one of the actors won an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series 2019. This other one is just an Indian remake. I don't think it'll appeal that much to people who aren't Indian or have Indian cultrual roots/heritage They even copied the alliterative name idea! Midge Maisel & Beanie Bhatnagar. I haven't seen this adaptatio and maybe its a good show but the trailer isn't appealing to me and I only think it'll be relatable to a small number of people. Whereas the Marvellous Ms Maisel is critically acclaimed and (to me at least) in clips seems funnier
