Stanley might be a human being, but when he’s wearing the titular mask, he’s imbued with the powers of a trickster night god who can warp reality, shapeshift, has super speed, enhanced durability and strength, high intelligence even at the loss of sanity, and pretty much his abilities are all based off cartoon logic which means he can hurt people or interact with them like how cartoons do it and have Hammerspace (pull stuff from out of nowhere).

I never realized until rewatching some of these clips, but I think one of the minor reasons this movie is so great is because the mask breaks the 4th wall and looks/talks to the camera while not a single other person in the entire movie does. It's weird, but makes the mask feel special lol

Amazing Jim Carrey and Cameron Diaz comedy flick ever. One of my top five favorite movies of Jim Carrey's (like the first Dumb and Dumber movie, along with Liar Liar, The Truman Show, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind for instance) and Cameron Diaz's (like There's Something about Mary, My Best Friend's Wedding, the first Shrek movie, and Gangs of New York for instance). Also, the "Smokin!" is one of my favorite lines by Jim Carrey in the movie The Mask. Also, I would recommend Passenger 57 with Wesley Snipes if you can upload it, along with Wyatt Earp with Kevin Costner, Gene Hackman, and Dennis Quaid, Drugstore Cowboy with Matt Dillon and Kelly Lynch, Bright Lights, Big City with Michael J. Fox, Rob Reiner's Stand by Me, The Bodyguard with Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston, American Psycho with Christian Bale, and those two Robert Altman films (like The Player and Short Cuts for instance).
