Two of the best things in this movie are every time he “ayayayaya”s with his teeth and when he “charges” his arms up when he goes to run somewhere. Another great thing in this scene is Carrey’s face when they’re searching him, and he eyes the items back and forth with almost no familiarity. Maybe part of Ipkiss was there and had some recognition like “oh look at all this shit this guy has in his pocket.” At least that’s the way it reads to me.

God Almighty, the Creator was manifest in the flesh. He came into the world to take away the sin of the world. He gave up his own life to save yours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for your redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. This is the Gospel which means the Good News. Those that reject redemption will go to hell. 1 John 1:8-10 KJV If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [10] If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. John 1:1-3,10 KJV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] The same was in the beginning with God. [3] All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. [10] He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. Isaiah 44:6 KJV Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. Revelation 1:17-18 KJV And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: [18] I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast. Acts 4:12 KJV Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. John 5:24 KJV Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

I really like the little twist that this movie gives to things. You usually expect the hot lady that the main character has a crush on to be the secret bad guy, and the smart reporter that the main character doesn’t give too much attention to at first to be the one that the main character stays with in the end. But it ended up being the other way around. Tina ended up being good and helping Stanley against the bad guys, and Peggy ended up being the secret bad guy that sold Stanley off to Dorian and the other bad guys. It’s a really simple but clever twist that plays with the expectations of the audience.

What I've never understood is how the cops are completely unfazed by the _physically impossible_ things the Mask does. He moves at superhuman speed, he can change his clothing or appearance in an instant, and even literally FLOAT IN MIDAIR. Yet they nonchalantly act like he's just a normal guy in a rubber mask...
@jcofthecorn7454 жыл бұрын
Some see some weird shit. My one buddy whose a cop ended up having a naked crackhead lady jump on his back because she was freaking out thinking aliens were going to abduct her because of all the drugs she did.

I think it’s because the Mask has not only the power to control reality, but also other people’s *perceptions* of that reality.
@KingAdrock4204 жыл бұрын
@@jcofthecorn745 That... isn't even vaguely the same thing. Folks doing strange stuff while twacked out on drugs is not even slightly similar as seeing someone doing the physically impossible. On top of that your cop friend thought that experience was weird, right? Out of the ordinary? Well these cops are seeing someone run at hundreds of miles an hour or float in the air like they're on strings and act like that's not even vaguely unusual...

What has constantly irritated me ever since that 80's Batman movie came out... and, I mean REALLY irritated me... was the fact that they put Jack Nicholson in the role (who basically just did what Jack does, and played himself, more or less) and put the obvious choice for the Joker (and the LAST person you would ever think to play Batman) Michael Keaton, of all people, in the Batman role. Michael has just come off of, "Beatlejuice" - for gosh sakes !!! BEATLEJUICE - and NOBODY could have played Beatlejuice better than Michael Keaton. He would have made a fantastic Joker !! And, by contrast - a terrible pick for what normally would be a macho-charimso, chisel-featured Batman character. Completely, totally... impossible to ignore this. He had to step aside for Nicholson, perhaps for some unknown reason. I always thought some director or higher-up wanted to dampen Keaton's stellar performance as Beatlejuice. He definitely would have outshone Nicholson, irrepressibly. Absolutely, the most inappropriate casting choice in the history of cinema, in my opinion. Jack, was too old and his persona too mainstream by that point in his career. There was nothing either imaginative, nor charismatic, nor even remotely 'dangerous' about his Joker. Whereas, 'Beatlejuice' would have stolen the SHOW !! (And, this mini-critique is not to hold back Jim Carey's genius, at all - his enigmatic swag was totally happy with stealing Christmas - Haha !!)
