Then we went to the Philippines, visited Mall of Asia and other malls in the Philippines, i was like wtf there's a skating rink inside the mall!!! lol People hang out and tgat was the first time I've heard the term "malling".

“Malling” is a thing in the philippines simply because unlike in most places in north America, Philippines has a searing hot weather. People look for shady areas ideally airconditioned and thus Mall is the ideal place to relax and hang out.

The SM Mall of Asia is currently under makeovers/renovations in some parts. More attractions to come! Everybody is excited! Latest attraction is the first IKEA store in the Philippines opened last year before Christmas. The mall is situated at the heart of the SM Central Business Park in Pasay City, it is also known as the Bay City. Opened in May 2006. Everything is here!

Private security in the Philippines does a lot in the protection of the public whenever you are, be it at the mall, grocery stores, banks, schools and Universities, anywhere there are mass of people. Mass shootings are unheard of here, not like in the USA which claimed over 145 lives already early this year. There are more security guards that were killed than the regular police. They are the unsung heroes that gave their lives to protect others. Did it without much fanfare or egos, nor abusive or out of bounds in their performance. All this despite being gravely underpaid. So be thankful to all these security personnel for their dedications.

Be careful guys. Don't go and stay in dark places. You should know that anywhere in the world. And most specially holding your expensive cellphones while walking. Purses always hold it at your front. Take care

My impression of Mall of Asia "MOA" Very large, hard to find a place to sit, hard to find the bathroom, and almost impossible to find a store with anything that you actually need or want. Typical of SM malls, noisy and uncomfortable. I have not been there in years. I understand it is even larger now than the last time I was there.
